But it's for your squad only. Some vehicles have active scanners that you can use too. All those red dots you see pop up when you can't see them yourself are your squad mate's vision.
Cool, yah? It allows you to use your mic for other information. |

I'm pretty sure you still need to remain in sight of the target tho. Idk if they changed it. I tried to do it before, but when my target broke LoS my mark came off.
If I'm trying to mark the location of a vehicle using the overhead, I use the "rally" command, or ask someone else to. Rally is a fixed location, but it lasts even if you can't see the target. You'll have to move it if the target moves. |

Nope, it's team-wide. Any hostile you detect will automatically show up in all of your teammate's radar and their main screen (that red down arrow). How long they will remain in radar after you lost sight of them, however, depend on each target's signature radius.
:O I'll test later tonight. I am pretty sure it was squad only at some point. Did they change it? o.o
-- I drive tanks, and I'm fairly certain that at one point enemy HAVs wouldn't light up for me, even if it was fighting the rest of my team. It would pop up for me only if a member of my squad saw it.
I think the other reason why I thought this is when looking down from the overhead map. If members of my squad were lighting up red dots they appeared on my map, but red dots wouldn't appear if other members of my team saw them. I think it was in last build when I was dropping orbitals. I'd look for where the blue dots were shooting because I could see that even though I couldn't see what they were shooting at. |
