For some reason I used to think the limit was one hundred items then I purchased some more and noticed it said 195 so then I said "lets experiment!!" and I purchased items until I was close to a thousand of an item.
Then I said what happens if the item count goes over one thousand and I purchased more items in lots of one hundred.
Now with the item count at 2500 I now wonder what happens when we buy more items? |

Just have lots of excess ISK and was wondering if theres a server problem when too many of one item are purchased.
And its not like every single player says : yeah!! lets buy one hundred thousand of ?? of?? ummmm Sagaris tanks.
I am just looking at ways to get more Quafe dropsuits and rare salvage weapons. |

No what?? No you do not work for CCP or no you have never purchased ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND of an item or no you are not in any way shape or form responsible for Dust 514/EVE server programs/algorithims??

quantities of items in eve often reach the 100's of millions and once they reach a certain threshold a new stack would be created. I imagine dust will be the same. |

Only if things go as planned.
However things do not! go as planned with folks missing items such as Exile rifle, Heavy Skinweave suits, etc.
I wonder what if instead of creating a new item stack the servers decide to do a wipe?? What then??
Oooopsie folks a tiny problem.
And if CCP says nothing on the subject then lets test it out
Worse comes to worst and we get cats and dogs living together and a full wipe after a server crash.

If you want to see if it would crash the servers you should do it with something more commonly used than Sagaris tanks - not everyone will be buying them. But that's if it even would. Try a hundred-thousand GEKs. But I'm not taking part in this |

baring in mind i have no expertise on he matter, but to take a guess....
nothing will happen, maybe absolute worst case, if you buy it all at the same time, you crash your client. But as far as im aware all of the actual records of item numbers is server side, were using tq now, plenty of billions of things owned by the big boys. If your not from eve id forgive you for not knowing but, alot of minerals ect are mined in thousands, sold in millions, and collected in the billions by big buyers i would have imagined.
point being, tq has been used to large numbers for a while now, dont think with our piddly amounts of isk we could do it any harm |

Hahahaha, I like to hear funny jokes when I get up...
No, the server won't crash. You'll receive 100k of the item and then you will have the money deducted. This server can track thousands of ships killing each other simultaneously. It's nearly impossible to crash the server in this manner. |

Its just 1 value, no matter if its 1 or 100.000 of the same item amongst millions in their Database....so no matter how many you buy its not gonna crash as i seriously doubt they are using a Text based file Database. |

I believe it was a billion per stack and 10,000 stacks per station per character. That is your inventory limits.
As for item transferals... I say look at Jita IV Several hundred billions of items move though that one station daily. |

Try 64bit instead, which is rather a large number. |

One hundred thousand items was meaningful during the sixties, sir, but nowadays it would be more credible to buy ONE MILLION items :S_ |

Not gonna happen. Tranquility is designed to handle millions of buy/sell transactions on a daily basis along with trade window transactions and contract transactions. I'm pretty sure it can handle a single transaction of just a measly 100,000 units of whatever junk you're trying to buy. |
