 Hello CCP,

So yes I am frustrated at the complete idiocy of my own passenger shooting down my drop ship with the missile launcher attached to it. Yes he is the stupidist. However, something comes to mind: Why is it even possible to point the blasted thing at itself?

Very angry at my moron passenger,
 -J-

I wonder with FF on if he could kill you.

 Interesting.

When we hit the ground I laid into him, but got shot in the back by an enemy. The worst thing about this is that he probably doesn't even know he shot us down. Otherwise he would have stopped shooting. (I hope)

Bumping this because this really needs to be looked at. Onboard turrets in tanks and dropships should not be able to point at or at very least damage oneself. It's too easy to shoot yourself down by accident, and it is way too easy to bribe someone on the other team to do it. Please limit the range of motion on the turrets, or make it non FF.

Turrets never caused self damage, though they did cause massive knock-back a couple builds ago.
You see the damage marker but it doesn't actually affect your shields.

If you're trying to say that I'm mistaken, I can understand how you might think that. However I was in a safe area, and watched the player turn the missile launcher and shoot the side of the dropship. Every time he did so, there was a subsequent explosion and damage to the vehicle. I suppose there is a remote chance that someone else shot the vehicle in the exact spot on the side of the ship, repeatedly? I'll try to confirm this next time I'm on.

Unless CCP changed it in the last release self strikes trigger the damage marker and sound an explosion, but don't actually deal damage. I've been slammed around by my own gunners but the only damage I've taken from it was when it caused me to hit a building.

I've actually had issues similar to this except that I wasn't aiming at the dropship at all but was getting the hit indicator saying that I was shooting the dropship. I've actually had missiles explode in front of my face as if i were shooting an invisible wall and my pilot said the ship was indicating a hit as above. Not sure exactly why or how this happens but it is very annoying.
