So far, as far as I've looked, most of the different weapon types have variations that change the properties of the weapon but not the in game model. Is it always going to be that way? Like, are all of the assualt rifles always going to look the same, just in different colors? It isn't a problem for me personally, I was just curious.
On a side note, are we ever going to be able to add different attachments to weapons, like maybe a 4x scope to an assualt rifle? |

Whenever someone brings up the gun models within a weapon type looking the same, someone always says this, or that its coming in the future. Never any sources to prove it. Its wishful thinking.
Unless you're talking about weapon customization, then yes, that is coming.

There are more rifles coming. The Scrambler Rifle is one we know about but there is another that i've seen pictures of. |

I have never seen anything suggesting that base models will vary and change based on tier or variant. I don't know if more model variation within the same gun type is coming or not, but I wouldn't just take anyone's word for it without proof.
At least new weapon types are coming, gauss rifle, scrambler rifle, plasma launcher, flaylock pistol. |
