I am unable to give you an exact date on when this will be rolled out but it shouldn't be too long. Thanks all for your patience! I know when you are going to release the new cap. Its the day when the initial 30 day boosters are used up. So in around 6~7 days from now on. Meaning that we will have the new SP system on either the 8th or 9th february. The influence of the marketing department is quite obvious. How i do know that? Simple cause my 30 day booster runs out in 6 days and 15 hours. I activated it stright when we got on the new build.
Wouldn't it make more sense for CCP to do it way after that?
I'm in the same boat as you--my 30 day booster runs out in roughly 6 days. If CCP doesn't have the new weekly cap in place, I'll probably buy the 7-day active boosters until they do. But if they change it to a weekly cap right as my 30-day one ends, then I can switch to 3-day boosters instead and just grind a bit more during those 3 days. Because they cost half as much, you'd could theoretically get the active booster bonus for twice as many weeks as someone buying 7-day boosters without losing out on any significant active SP gains (disregarding the small bonus per game after you hit the weekly cap on the days you don't have it activated).
I've also been toying with the idea of buying a 7 day booster and activating it 3 or 4 days before the weekly cap resets. That way, you can hit Week A's cap in those 3 or 4 days prior, and then Week B's cap in the 4 or 3 days you have left over. Basically two weeks worth of active SP for a one-week booster. You then wait a full seven days from when the first booster ends, and activate the second one sometime mid-Week C to get the bonus for that week and Week D, etc. |

This will be averted if they have the amount of SP that gets rolled over each day based of if you have the boaster or not on. Not having the SP cap be increased once a week but still once every day and if not used the SP that could have been gained gets rolled over.
Of course people could still do the 3 day thing, but it gives some perk to do 30 day.
Also discount based on how many days you get.
They've made it clear that they don't have the ability to do rollovers right now. If they somehow set up a system to fleece the consumer out of SP at the end of a week due to lack of an activated booster at the beginning because they have daily rollovers, it would be absolute proof they had lied to us.
The only thing you might have to worry about is hitting the cap before you activated the booster in Week C like this:
The cap is going to be 190,000 without the booster. If you hit it before activating the booster, there may be some bug (or call it whatever you want) that wouldn't allow you that extra 95,000 you'd normally get with the booster if you had activated it earlier. However, if you hit like 100,000 and then activated a booster after that, it seems to me you'd not only have the extra 90,000 from the regular cap, but an addition 95,000 from the booster. I have to imagine that's how it works.
As for the discount for a 30-day booster, it might be worth it. Just keep in mind, it would have to cost about 14,000 Aur to be basically the same as four 3-day boosters on the one-a-week system, which would seem to make the weekly booster almost irrelevant if you could get more than four times the days for only twice the price. |
