As an EVE player I anticipated how this would turn out as soon as the Corp leader ask the other supposedly persecuted corp if they would spare some solders. It is a good story though, and I tip my hat to the future Corp leader for adapting to the situation.
This is New Edon.
My favourite EVE experience was when a supposedly friendly Corp was working with us to defend a Player Owned Station, but used the intel they got from us to ambush and destroy two of our carriers. We got there before they managed to escape and we tied them down with Warp Scramblers so they could not jump their Dreadnaughts out. They brought in carriers to support their Dreadnoughts, and then our reinforcements scrambled their carriers. So they brought in more carriers, but then the Corp who we were originally defending our Player Owned Station against started scrambling the new carriers, so we sent word out to all our fleet to stop shooting the hostile corp until the backsabers were dealt with.
We were in a bit of a stalemate. With all the carriers providing repairs to their fleet we could not break their tank, but we were flying small, fast, heavily armoured ships which their big guns could not easily track, and we had logi ships keeping us up as well.
Finally after the back stabbing corp had brought in over 30 capital ships we contacted Pandemic Legion (a massively strong Alliance that we had no affiliation with) and said: GÇ£Hey, we got 30 capital ships scrambled at this location. Do you want to come get some easy Capital ship kills?GÇ¥ They said GÇ£Sure!GÇ¥. We held the 30 capitals for another 10 minutes or so until a Pandemic Legion ship uncloaked and lit a cyno field. Then suddenly 40 or 50 Pandemic Legion Super Carriers burst into existence and a cloud of drones descended on the 30 capital ships we had pined down like flys in a spiderGÇÖs web.
Due to Pandemic Legion setting off an EMC device that temporarily disrupted our scramblers and warp bubbles about half of the backstabbing fleet got away, but they still lost 15 of their capital ships. The original aggressor ran back to their station when Pandemic Legion showed up, and Pandemic Legion decided not to blow up our Player Owned Station, so we ended up successfully defending it.
The funning thing was that we had fully anticipated losing the battle to defend the station, but our supposed friends backstabbing us changed everything. I remember when we realized that Pandemic Legion were leaving and someone on coms said GÇ£Did we just win this?GÇ¥ and someone else said GÇ£I need new undies!GÇ¥
