The slow ROF high damage weapon we have now is useless, and it doesn't look like CCP is working on fixing it any time soon. Anyway, looking at this poor broken weapon got me to thinking... shouldn't a breach AR be a high ROF/low accuracy weapon? Anyway, since they don't feel like FIXING it, maybe they'd be willing to change it entirely. I'll skip all the chatter and tell you I think the breach would be better suited to being set up like this like this:
25-29 Damage per bullet 800 Rounds per minute 50 Rounds per clip 40 meter effective range 43 accuracy
With this set up, the breach becomes a truly close quarters weapon. Virtually useless at a distance because of low accuracy/effective range, but perfect for close to medium range combat. The higher spread would help it keep hitting those evasive enemies at close range while the smaller clip would prevent it from being too easy to spray and pray for longer than a second or two.
Anyway, this isn't in the feedback section because I thought I'd get some feedback from you guys before I proposed the idea in the official sense, get an idea of how you would maybe adjust my numbers or see if you even think it's a valid idea. I appreciate any legit responses on this. |

When i started the other week i tried out the breach AR and was disgusted with it. Never had the chance to use it when it was good or more than good. has it been smaked down that drastically? |

I'd like to see CCP return the breach and tac to as they were in E3 builds since hit detection works now. |

The breach used to be massively OP because hit detection with the higher ROF weapons was horrible. They nerfed it so heavily that it's become almost entirely unusable. It's currently only good for killing scout suits, anything else has enough HP to turn and drop you before you can get halfway through their health due to the low ROF. They either need to jack the damage back up or increase the ROF a bit, otherwise it will remain a lame curiosity item with no practical purpose. |

A buff to damage is what the breach need, I can understand the rest of the stats if the damage got buffed. |

breach AR used to be the ****, far superior to any other kind of assault rifle. they simply nerfed it before open beta, but it'll probably get buffed again soon. CCP always does this |

I am really wanting the breach back SO bad these days... every time I see proto mention it, it digs at me more and more. Now I'm to the point that I'm trying to come up with some way for CCP to do SOMETHING with it... just so I could hold it in my hands again...

this is only half the truth. it was OP because of the accuracy mechanics. you have a default accuracy/spread while standing, walking, crouching and each shot adds stackable weapon kick to it. in short each additional shot reduces accuracy up to a cap where you reach the lowest accuracy possible with your current weapon. the weapon kick resets over time.
now the gist with the breach was, it had great default accuracy and that the slow ROF allowed the weapon kick to reset FULLY before the next shot. this made the weapon accurate while holding the trigger. you could even hip fire close range and still reliable aim and hit the head.

Seriously tho I like the breach AR the way it is, the range sucks for now, need sharpshooter up... Scout or Assault suit it works well if used right. Also I think more kick needs to be added. |

Some of you guys are cracking me up with your miss use of terms. It'll really screw up your math.
Moderate ROF and Moderate DPS? That's just improper as DPS (Damage Per Second) is the product of ROF and DMG.
Example using Basic HMG if I remember the right values...
RPM = 2000 DMG = 14
(2000/60) * 14 = 466.667 DPS |

I haven't been around since the start but I do use the breach AR and if I can get close enough I waste ppl with it, including heavies if it's all headshots.

Hopefully they up the damage to prior builds. If Breach were returned to its original damage (+8, if I remember correctly) it wouldn't be a GOD gun like before, because now hit detection is decent... it would simply be on par with the other guns. (which is all we're asking for) |

The cqc, low rate of fire seems odd. Make the breach a higher rate of fire, with damage per shot lowered so damage per second is around the same as standard ar. Keep the hip fire accuracy the breach has according to background paragraph.
Take the current breach stats, increase the range to between standard and tac. Then rename it, assault assault would follow form of other weapons. In honour of old swear filter, I propose it be named kitten assault rifle.
Then we would have two viable alternatives to standard ar. One better at close quarters, one at longer range. Tac is still a long range niche weapon, and a few people use the burst. So, standard would be most popular, but others would see a little use. Maybe only half ar users will use the standard then. |
