I would like to add the ability to place a bounty on players. Once a bouny is placed have it show a $ in green over their head so that any who shoot them in a Pub match will get a bonus to their ISK reward.
EDIT: It will bring a new breed of PUB Bounty Hunters and with it should come a Bounty Kill Board showing the Top Bounty hunters.
We are Mercenaries and are by trade a hired killer.
We are expected to be paid by Capsuleers to kill one another, why not allow us on a personal level be hired to kill an individual.
How will it work?
We it will be much like the EVE Bounty Hunting system. You enter a match and bring up the list of Mercs on both team. Next you notice that some of those Mercs in your Ambush map have Wanted signs over there Pic. Not only this but there is a $ or a skull next to their health bar making them an easier target in a crowed.
Each time you kill someone with a bounty you earn X% of their suit, gun and fitting. This ISK is then paid out from the total bounty placed until the bounty runs out. The Idea is revenge or at lest some satisfaction for any reason you choice. Having the person marked will draw extra attention to them in game costing them more deaths and ISK in fittings.

Fred puts a 1 mill ISK bounty on Bob; this goes into Fred's bounty "pot". Bob goes into a match in a 100K suit. Jane kills Bob. John the logi revives Bob; no payout for Jane :-( Maurice kills Bob, who then bleeds out; 100K of gear is destroyed Maurice gets 20K out of the 1 mill bounty pot.

This in turn will mess with his KDR, cost loss in SP that he could earn total for that match, loss in fittings and loss in ISK. The Community extracts your revenge for you.
For Players who kill him in any random PUB match, they will earn say 25% of his total gear (Dropsuit, Modules, Weapons and Equipment) within that life (and while we are at it how about they can gain some of that gear in salvage).
So if he is wearing a total of 100k in gear that means the person who kills him once will earn an additional 25k to their end total of the match (Thats a good ammount when PUB matches only pay around 250k). That 25K will come out of the bounty knocking it down from 1 mill to 999,975 ISK. Each time he is killed the same thing happens until the Bounty is completely gone.

With the new Bounty Mechanic in EVE you only make %20 of the worth of the ship so your wrong on that part. It's no longer worth it as an exploit. You will always take loss.
This would be in Pub matches only and I think should be the same way (like %25 of the Suit and fitting form the total bounty) that way the person being killed will still receive loss, even if they could get a Corp mate to Q sync with and happen to Randomly end up on the reds.
Your argument is not really there. |

With it being a % of their gear they would still need to be killed a number of times before the bounty runs out of funds.
I more then anyone here should not want this, but I do. In EVE I already have 1 bill on my head and am sure to get the same treatment on Dust as well.
We are Mercs and being hired to kill is just what we do |

It has been established in this thread that the loss of gear is more important than the loss of a merc.
Thus my idea: You make a contract with gear manufacturers, and everytime you kill someone using that gear, you get a provisional payment of a fraction of the worth of his gear, as your victim will havr to rebuy it. Buy killing him and destryoing his gear,you basically ensure that his supplier still has a paying customer!
Also, that way, your monetary incentive wouldn't be restricted to a single dustbunny, but to everyone using gear by that manufactuer!
It would be nice, but the mechanics to facilitate this are a long, long ways off. What would first need to happen is full market integration followed by a revamp of how BPOs work in DUST. This means they will have to be turned in to a normal BPO that is used to generate items instead of just being applied to a load out for infinite use.
Most of the mechanics for this Bounty system can easily be placed in game and could be done before or by Fan Fest of this year |

instead it should be more twords the end of devolpment and be added to EvE and Dust once we can hitch a ride with our Pilot buddies. where you can have multipul bounty objectives such as, Capturing the ship, Taking the wanted ALIVE, a Spasific Exicution, and ect.
The bounty system could be glorious and wonderful chance for Dust and EvE players to work together.

This is base on the Bounty Hunting system in EVE, so yes it goes with the lore just fine and since you die more in DUST, players can make a far amount of ISK if they kill you more than once. When I get home IGÇÖll set up the Math.

i'm hurt, i gave you my Honest opinion and you attack me so blantently. i WANT a bounty system in Dust but i don't think it would work for Dust it self. you have to randomly be put in the same room as the person for the bounty for one so there is luck envoled. and even then, you might be working WITH him. so there gose your chance for getting the bounty in the first place. in EvE, EVERYONE had a chance to clame the bounty, so it works there. With the system there will be plenty of Bounty's most of the time on Both sides, so yes its fair and if not then it is luck of the draw. |
