Seeing as death is quick meaningless for us dustbunnies, I don't think a bounty mechanic would make sense. Killing redberries is the main way of interacting with them, so i don't think that you need an additional incentive to promote murdeous behaviour in dust, unlike eve, where people can and do have careers NOT focused on killing people, and where tracking down and successfully engaging is a much harder and riskier task... |

This would bring more meaning to killing and it would add a whole new twist to the Pub matches. It will bring a new breed of PUB Bounty Hunters and with it should come a Bounty Kill Board showing the Top Bounty hunters.
Nah, I don't want to suck otu fun. In fact, I have so much fun killing redberries that I don't need an incentive to make me kill them.
But if you want to financially spice things up, how about "corporate sponsorships"?
It has been established in this thread that the loss of gear is more important than the loss of a merc.
Thus my idea: You make a contract with gear manufacturers, and everytime you kill someone using that gear, you get a provisional payment of a fraction of the worth of his gear, as your victim will havr to rebuy it. Buy killing him and destryoing his gear, you basically ensure that his supplier still has a paying customer!
Also, that way, your monetary incentive wouldn't be restricted to a single dustbunny, but to everyone using gear by that manufactuer! |

This is base on the Bounty Hunting system in EVE, so yes it goes with the lore just fine and since you die more in DUST, players can make a far amount of ISK if they kill you more than once.
Wait, isn't the bounty paid by the guy who's set it? So his expenses would grow drastically if the bounty isn't paid once, for one kill, but for every kill! I don't think anyone would set up a bounty on someone, if the fugitive could just trololol the hard earned ISK away by playing as a pacifist, dying at every opportunity... especially as he can do it without any cost to himself, thanks to the free starter fittings...
Also, would suicides reward the wanted player? |
