40,000 Aur to allow us to reset our smexy SP pool. With all the changes coming down, I feel like its a waste to train anything but core items like Armor/Shield training and not spend anything else, maybe nades.
40k Aur is painfull enough to not do alot for most of us and will give some cash back into CCP pocket, not saying i want it to be like Jita was pre riot..... |

Nope. You make bad choices you live with them. Don't skill into the weapon of the week in a beta when theres sure to be a nerf hammer (and no reset) coming down. |

If you don't already have them it's arguably a waste to train anything but core items regardless of changes. Besides resets are totally superfluous in Dust since there is no level cap or SP Cap (not to be confused with the cap on SP gains per week) so while there are suboptimal choices there are no "wasted" points as you can always get max levels in whatever you desire.
Dust is meant to be played over years not months or weeks, damaging progression and thus the longevity of the game by adding in such an element is a net loss.
In a persistent universe choices matter, plan accordingly.

I agree about not wasting valuable sp on weapons and things that will ultimately change 30 times in a month. I currently and learning just core skills like Field mechanics 5 and shield upgrades and the like.
Was just wondering if they would allow us a 1 time shot for those that dont know how it works ( i do).

Never gonna happen. Eve players hate the idea as well. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. It's ripe for abuse on a massive scale.
Also, accept the permanent consequences of your choices. |

^ Agreed.
Besides, once you have trained the basics get to the part where getting a higher skill level takes days or even weeks of passive and active skill points you can't simply train the first thing that you think looks cool or will give you an advantage.
You have to ask yourself what do you want to archive inside DUST? Where do you want to be a month, 3 months or even 6 months from now? That might be kind of difficult to do right now since the game is still in beta, and we don't know all the features and statistics yet. But once the game is released it will be vital to plan your skill training if you want to become better at DUST than everyone else. |
