until we get the plasma launcher, they will continue to dominate the battlefield... Please give us the plasma launcher sooner rather than later, because Shield HAVs are currently unbalanced in regards to defeating them. Sure there are flux grenades... but that's about it.
For armor tanks you have swarms AND AV grenades... and orbitals.

While forge guns do some great damage to tanks regardless of how they tank themselves, I've been in matches where there were no heavies on my team to even carry forge guns. (it's rare, but it apparently happens). The plasma launcher is a light, shoulder fired weapon, similar to the swarm, except that it doesn't lock and track. And it's a dedicated shield AV weapon. Albeit, it could be used to removed someone's torso from their arms/legs.
I spec and have been spec'ing into assault... later or if i see a need to in the mean time, i will spec into things like swarms and what-not. But for the the time being, I am still skilling into my basic play style. Excuse me, if you think that I've had the time to earn enough SP to skill into anything other than what I have been.
Also the title of this post is: "Shield tanks are not OP, but"
The purpose for this post is because of a few games yesterday where my team as a whole got wrecked by shield tanks, but not just one (which I think could have been handled), but 2 or more shield tanks on the field of battle at the same time... It makes us ground-pounders have to work that much harder with gear or equipment we may not have. |
