If you're in the redzone, you get no sp for being in battle. BAM DONE FIXED.
80% of the sp you get is just from being in a battle. But being in the redline is not being in battle. |

so that just forces the people you have redlined to just quit the game. There is nothing that can make players come out of the redline (by their choice) , just so you or I will have a target in our cross hairs. |

You know, or they could spawn some dropships and LAVs and take the field back.
Right people DO quit the game, they sit in the MCC to grind passive sp, or snipe snipe away. Pushing players into leaving the redzone so they gain rewards for RISKING DEATH is the point. If there is no risk, there should be no reward.
also all you have t do is survive, so maybe people will go on crazy free fit LAV runs to get more sp out of the battle. IT's not like you'd get zero sp, unless you sat in the red zone all match. |

Mercy rule. If no one has taken a letter in "x" minutes. Game ends. Get out of the red line or the game is over. |

I am cool with that, and perhaps kicking idle players out faster. |

This is the real fix. People aren't getting the actual problem here. The problem is that one team has beaten the other team so severely they're pushed back to their spawn. The game is, for all intents and purposes, over. One team has won, and the other team is being farmed. CCP needs to modify how Skirmish games work so that when such a state is reached, the game rapidly draws to a close, and people get to move on to a game which is hopefully better balanced and thus fun to play. |

There should be a retreat Option for the defending team. Or a system where the MCC just leaves after a while of your team doing nothing, because it's like, **** you guys. |

Haha what you don't lose for getting pushed back to the red zone. If you all pile in one at a time in a straight line maybe. But I can solo take back two points because no one is defending the back. The whole team is at your red zone, GO AROUND THEM. |

You don't seem to be listening to the replies.
You want us to seriously consider the idea but you get abusive and demand that your solution and your method of play are the only way. Which makes it really difficult to take you or your proposals seriously.
In reply to your OP: The Red Line is a CCP level design feature. It makes changing the conditions of any map simple and quick. It can give multiple variations for battle on the same map. Just with a few changes. Simple and no need for a lot of redesigning of a new map and its mesh. Remember the HK Video Game servers? The really small maps were just Manus Peak with Null Cannon A removed and different Red Lines.
Also, you do not seem to realize that the opposing team cannot even see the Red Line you are looking at. They have a different Red Line that will kill them just as quickly as yours will. |

Maybe you'll hack a point, maybe it'll flip, but if your team were capable of out-playing the enemy team, you wouldn't have been redlined in the first place. You'll get killed, the point will be retaken, and a game that was decided a while ago will continue to drag on. |

You've never had a game where you come back to win? also I really don't think I'm being abusive and demanding :P
also I don't think Thranx understands whats going on. I'm talking about sitting in your own redzone, which you can't see, and gaining sp. That's not a method of play, that's people abusing a broken mechanic which will be fixed, and I'm just offering my own proposal. If you aren't in the fight, you get no SP. Also a reward for winning so people get off thier butts and try.
In fact I was going to suggest that being in battle only count when you near other reds and players being active. So if you running around doing nothing you get no sp. Getting sp for nothing is stupid, and that's me being |

My .02 ISK on redlining, which seems to be what this topic veered off toward. I thought the OP was about abusing the redzone. My idea on that topic is to get rid of passive SP altogether, since the skill system is so fair and diagonal in terms of progression.
Anyway, on redlining, one idea is to have each team's territory covered on the radar in dashed light blue lines for their members to ensure that players know where they are relatively safe, or at least in their base territory. They won't rush out of it when redlining is occurring... maybe...
A second idea is to have another game mode, Destruction (or Annihilation), where the opposing MCC must be destroyed at all costs. When all null cannons have been hacked by one side for some time (typically the other side will be redlined), the opposing MCC attempts to retreat (I don't know if this breaks lore though, because I do not know the range of the null cannons) so the succeeding team must board the MCC. If they lose this match, they have a respawn penalty so the other team gets time to shape up, get a better position, and take over installations (Don't know why in the lore, but it'd help the team). This does not fix a bad team, so it's just an idea for a game mode having to do with redlining.
I thought the game mode, considering it's name, makes sense, since Ambush has players ambushing due to the "cruddy" respawn system, skirmish has players attempting to blow up the enemy's MCC but they aren't intent on destroying it at all costs even if it's retreating, and Destruction/Annihilation has the players attempting to destroy the enemy's MCC at all costs. Skirmish could also be updated to have the enemy MCC retreat some time after all null cannons have been hacked, so there's three separate win conditions: deplete clone reserves, blow up enemy MCC, or make enemy MCC retreat by hacking all null cannons.

You could expand the Red line zone to the nearest hacking position, when one of teams is in control of all the bases. That won't fix the problem, but will make it easier to break through the other team defenses. |

Shortly after all objectives are capped by one team, the other team's MCC starts to slowly retreat. After a couple of minutes of retreating the match ends. All that is required to stop the retreat and continue the game is to start to hack an objective. Just start; not complete. All you need to do is try. |
