wow,,just jumped on,i like what ive seen so far, giving some time,i cant wait to dive deeper into the game,i really like the progression aspect, just a suggestion,id like to see a hardcore mode option,to get rid of the hit markers, the little arrows that show your position, and enemys position,a squad based game play seems what game is reaching for,so more objective game play would be awsome,as in skill points for squad coop together,,i hate the run and gun game play,,skill points for taking cover, flanking, teamwork would be a huge plus, all in all,i think as the game develops its gonna be a very cool game,,,i like strategy,,and teamwork, more enviroment cover for shootouts, not just a blind run and gun, hope to hit your target,,,,i like it though, looking forward to playing this often,, |

btw about those red arrows, don't worry it's an awesome complex part of the game that isn't quite finished yet : )
You only show up if some on the other team is seeing you and has the aim right on you, OR if you are within the scan radius of a player. However you can damp your profile with mods so you don't show up on his or anyone elses radar. This can be countered by active scanners and modules that increase scan strength.
There is even a mod for the dropship right now which when activated sends out a pulse and dots everyone within it's range for 10 seconds. Meaning that you can spec into being a flying recon ship in this game.
Also soon to come commander dropsuits which give out bonuses to nearby mercs. One of these damps everyone nearby you allowing you and your squad to move unseen.
Just remember even if they don't see the dot, they can still aim, and kill you. it just makes it harder to notice you. : )
Also if a sniper has someone in thier sights, it lights them up for the whole team. This can make a good sniper usefull if they move with the squad and use the range of the scope to point out and "tag" enemy threats.
Also when your behind a wall or indoors you don't show up either. So I think the maps you'll have fun with are the indoor only maps which will be coming out soon. In which case people will only show up on your radar when your team mates find them in a room. If your teammates die, you'll have to guess if they have moved or are on the way to another position. I'm so excited.
Also 20 foot mechs and fighter jets are coming out soon too : ) Before the end of the year at least, I consider that soon :P |
