After participating in a few matches today, i realized something that was quite depressing; in literally every single match i have joined in the past 4 days, not 1 person in a squad were chatting with their team-mates (reffering to the random players) and i have to say, it appears like the majority of the PS3 community in general never use mics on hardly any games. The only reason that i have a gripe and slight confusion with this is that i also play on xbox (no, im not in favor of one over the other or am trying to start a console war, so stay out trolls) and on the xbox even in random matches nearly everyone is still communicating with eachother, and it's a refreshing and inspring thing to see once you do. However it just appears like this is missing in the PS3 realm. Is it the community? Is it the expense of PS3 bluetooths or headsets? Whatever it is, it's driving me insane. |

Most of the players are in corporations and use their mics either in corp chat or squad chat.
It is unfortunate and some of us switch to team chat to try to help the unincorporated.
Somehing to consider is to watch your local chat channel and group up with others with a mic this will make the game much more enjoyable.
Just post lfs with mic there are many others wanting the same as you. Good luck merc. |

Yeah but i mean, out of 16 players there should at least be (some) communication between the team, but i mean there have been matches where every squad is dead silent, no corp squads or anything, and im the only voice pleading for someone else to respond haha |

Dont* and yes haha they do, but they are really ****** and break easy. What i have found is on xbox (at least the games i play on it) the amount of players (who although are complete randoms) always talk to eachother, the game im reffering to by the way is BF3. I mean, i have even played the PS3 version of BF3 and there's a clear difference in that too |

CCP should set the clients default position to Voice on, so people will hear others talking and want to join in.
Personally I tend to avoid voice comms in pubbie matches because i grow tired of listening to nubs whine about dying. |

Voice default: OFF Push-to-talk default: ON Default channel: SQUAD
ALL of these should be changed if we want to see consistent (and meaningful) communication from new players. There's a thread about it (newly created) in the feedback section. I checked the first 3 pages and stickies and found no mention of it - I know there had been threads on the topic long in the past, but they seem to have faded into obscurity under the weight of all the "nerf scissors because paper deserves a chance. Anyone who likes rock is stupid anyway" threads. |

Way back when, in earlier builds, there was almost always people people on comms. Playing random games used to be much more fun because mics were on by default.
I seriously do not see why this was changed. What are you doing CCP? |

Total number of people I've met with a mic: 3
I don't even plug mine in at this point, it's really quite depressing. My corp is pretty much me, myself and I(3 Alts lol) so thats out the window.
I'd have a lot more fun than I do now if I had some friends that actually play the game. Which brings me to a point, please add a "Send friend Request" button below the "add as contact" option or enable the option to all players you've added as a contact. I've had so many people ask how they can add other players. |

Then invite them into your own squad. Then after 2-3 matches you should start to have a nice little team going, all using mics : ) |

I seriously do not see why this was changed. What are you doing CCP? They/ are still on, but new people don't use mics. everyone playing before was hardcore beta tester mode. you think that's CCP fault? what? really? |

Pretty sure it's only the fact that people came here and learned how to turn voice on. If we're lucky, the noobs will eventually start to learn again. |

you'll only see people who are in corp squads use mics, the majority of unknown players when you play solo usually don't use mics. |

The best way to have better proportion of ppl using mics is:
Give it in PS3 BOX like Xbox360. This will encourage people to use what they get.

I dont know about any one else but our community always has mic on and talking. We use a chat channel and it has several different corps in it and all of the players come on comms and talk to us. (even those who cant speak very good english come on)
Some times it gets too much when everyone is all in different battles and you dont know who the hell to listen to XD
always a good laugh though. |

Meh.
That's still better than the jackass who was peeing (not kidding you) with an open mic in a match once. I really should have written that name down. |

I have to say - you have consistently been one of my favorites on the forums since at least June.
