i just recently specd into AR, but im running a scout type 2 atm working towards a non-shotgun, stealth/speed hybrid build. i use AR because im comfortable with it and it suits my play style. I enjoy it for what it is and not because someone said "this is awesomeeee" or "GEK=instant win". Feels like middle school sometimes when people are influenced by something like " ohh , make this build, all the cool good players are doing it". Ill have to agree with some people here in saying that things are pretty decently balanced atm. Fact is imho, the gun doesnt kill, the person wielding it does. you can have the best gun in the game but if you dont have a steady hand or an understanding of how its meant to function or your just not comfortable with it, then thats your bad. Getting killed by something like the GEK all the time doesnt mean its OP regardless of the % of players using it. You dont know what those people are specd out with, for all you know they could be super specd in just AR/weaponry/sharpshooter, therefore shredding any unsuspecting players in a matter of seconds. Ive only been on this forum for close to 2 weeks and its already annoying seeing so many people blaming their skill short-comings and lack of strategy on the weapons in the game...i get there has been and still will be times when things are DEF. OP or UP but this is definetely not one of those times.

I don't think its a matter of who comes up at the top at the end consistently. ..I never thought that was the point...I could go 1-10 with my GEK in a match, as long as I got some nulls hacked and the team won, who cares? And getting into the mechanics of the vattlefield, your GEK is a versatile killing machine. If your running a scout or assault suit with a GEK you have the ability to move In and engage targets efficiently as well as hacking objs. Once killing is done. You will get WP on all fronts, more if u carry injectors like me too if your running a sniper your covering objs/providing squad Intel. Logi your going to be supporting your troops or hacking and so on.not saying those classes aren't capable of serious pain output, but running an frontlines GEK scout or assault as a good player, chances are you will see more wp than a lot of others. But at the end of the day who cares...did your team or corp win the match? The W is way more important than the KD, even though kd does play a part in some modes more than others, but a team with good squad tactics and team strats will ourshine some guys with aGEK any day. |
