Forgive my ignorance if this was discussed before, but does the race you choose at the start affect anything in regards to whom you can corporation/squad with IN THE LONG RUN. I know it doesn't now, as me and my buddies have been able to all group together. Me and my bud are both Gallente, and my wife is Amarr I think. She is the only one of us that wants to go from here to EvE, me and my bud are just content to stay in our little bubble here. Will that throw anything off for her?

In dust no not at the moment in eve affects your starting location and what ships u can fly and type of guns u can use |

It only determines how cool you are. It goes in a simple progression:
1) Gallente
2) Minmatar
3) Caldari
4) Amarr

Note that even in EVE, your starting race does not prevent you from flying other race's ships, you just don't start with the skills. Aside from your coolness factor (see above), the only lasting impact is that your default "rookie" ship is permanently that of your starting race. So, if you blow up and dock at a station without any other ship in your inventory, you get a free piece-of-kitten ship based on your race. |

Your character's race is an entirely cosmetic bit of roleplaying fluff.
Maybe some goofy hardcore roleplaying corp will only allow members of their own race to join, but other than that it has absolutely no bearing on what you can do on the game. There is no benefit or disadvantage in what race your character is. You can even join the "enemy" in factional warfare! |
