You know what's annoying? The RDVs. I'm pretty sure every single one of us has had some kind of bullshit situation where they just don't do what they're supposed to and inevitably cost -YOU- ISK.
Point in case: My particular RDV decided it wanted to crash into several buildings before finally deciding that the best place to drop it was in the red zone. So in an effort to get my vehicle I chased after it and when it never dropped (just hovering in place laughing at me so to speak) I decided to turn back and go into the safe zone before I got murdered by the invisible forces.
So what does our particular RDV do? Drops the vehicle -on top of me- as I'm trying to get out of the red zone.
At this point I was furious and tried to spawn in as fast as I could to retrieve my vehicle, only to be spawned (by the default spawner no less) ACROSS THE MAP while some blue-dots decided to confiscate my vehicle. If there was ever a time I wanted personal user locks, that would have been it - because, yes, I am an ******* and I'd rather my expended ISK go out in flames than go to a friendly.
So I call in another vehicle of the same type after a (lengthy) process of having to restock the damned thing in the field.
Wouldn't you know it, It drops it right in front of an enemy tank.
At this point I just turned the PS3 off rather than risking a broken television because, honestly, I'm not going to get that worked up over some stupid game mechanics that should have been thought about while on the marker board.
For the love of God, don't try to drop vehicles in the Red zone. Don't even make the attempt or "feign" it.
Don't drop it -ONTOP- of people, much less the person who bought the damned thing in the first place.
Deny the vehicle request if the zone is "hot" - I mean, come on, if there's an entire tank in the area (that somehow doesn't come up on the minimap) you'd think some sort of red flag would go up.
I dunno, I could think of a thousand things to make this system at least partially better but at the rate it's going I'm almost wishing there was simply a vehicle deployment bay that I could get my vehicle from rather than praying to whatever God will listen that it actually gets dropped, not on top of me or one of my buddies and not stolen by some ******* who's got a blue chevron.
