I've noticed people don't seem to know what to do when I bring a HAV onto the field. I feel like I should offer some advice.

 1) You don't have to kill me to beat me. This is probably the most important lesson you could take from this. If I'm in a location where I can retreat, it'll take an unreasonable amount of AV to kill me. However, with only one guy and a militia swarm launcher I'm forced to spend the entire engagement ducking in and out of cover, unable to advance. So don't overdo it on AV, you're just screwing your team for little real benefit.

 2) Seriously, you can't hurt me with an AR. Quit trying. All you've accomplished is changing yourself from "guy I didn't even know was there" to "primary target".

 3) I've noticed a weird trend where people charge up and stand on top of the HAV shooting it with ARs. Are you guys doing that as a joke? Because people pulling that on me has gotten a lot of them killed.

 4) If you don't have AV, just avoid me. I'm not stealthy, nor am I particularly maneuverable. The turret doesn't track particularly fast, either. It's literally possible to sprint out in front of me and get across the street faster than I can track you.

 5) If you really want to kill me, your best bet is to keep me from retreating. Since there are no webs or cap neuts yet, your options are limited in that regard. Using vehicles of your own can be a lot of help.

I rather feel that this post should not exist, the amount of joy I get when a blueberry decides his AR is going to teach me a lesson is without equal. If blueberries learn that their AR's cannot hurt me, where will my joy come from??? In any case, I will always have the stray sniper trying to decimate the MCC... Good times.... Good times.

Your statement is very useful to the new kids in town. However, i like them shooting you for another reason... they take the heat off me as i turn around and blap you with my FG.

Once, just after the wipe, when I had no AV fits, someone in a 1 vs. 1 match pulled a tank, and so desperate, I jumped on top of the tank just like you said I shouldn't do. But you know what happened? After firing a few rounds of SMG, and the tank moving around erratically, he hoped out. I took my Mass Driver out and blew him up, hacked his tank, and had a few laughs.

To this day, I have no idea why he got out.

I disagree, all tanks must die :)

But there are some good points there

If there is a red tank i will make it my mission to kill it, i run with a swarm launcher set up with a scout so i can get in to position quickly, i also have 2 different load outs depending if it is an armor tank or shield tank i either have AV or flux grenades

what i normally do is get quite close to the tank and spam the correct grenade type at the tank and as the OP said most are forced to retreat at this point i whip out my swarm launcher and finish off the last part of armor

might be better ways to do it but this is what i like to do

Hmmm...I'm wondering if an affective AV tactic is to crash a free LAV into the thing right after jumping out...

 Yup.
I had a team mate do that to me with a full LAV when my shield was down and i was retreating.
