First goto ur PS settings - Accessory settings- Audio Device Settings. make sure u enable ur mic in there. go in dust settings operation - option - Enable Voice chat - turn ptt off since its glichy more then anything else.
once all is activated. open ur chat- press select- make sure the cursur is all the way left - choose a channel press X and select activate voice.

Don't forget to turn on push to talk. Nobody wants to hear you eating/drinking/coughing/etc |

There's no point in paying aurum for a UVT unless you have a corp or private channel to talk on. You don't need it for team or squad chat, so don't waste your money.
Also, very few people actually bother to use their mics on the team or squad chat for some reason, so don't be surprised to hear nobody most games. You'll be able to tell if your mic is on because you'll get a little speech bubble next to your name on the chat and you can tell if someone else has their mic on or at least can hear you if they've got a bubble next to their name. |

Further to above advice, I had the same problem and solved it by ensuring I went into Setting - Sound Settings - Audio Multi-Output and making sure it was enabled. For some reason this fixed it for me.
P.SI have push-to-talk set to "off" in-game as well. Can't push a stupid extra button & snipe people at the same time. |

I disagree That is what mute is for. Having to use the dpad to voice chat is difficult if your trying to repair the heavy that is keeping my logi but alive not to mention shooting, dancing, and running around while in the middle of a fire fight, Just to tell said heavy that a red dot is comming up on his left. |

The reason being that most console people are too mentally challenged to get it working in the first place and when they do they sound like crap with their junk mics. Now if we only had a decent chat system... or PCs for voice comms. Like it or not, it is what it is. |

Which is why I got to hear someone's father telling him to go to bed the other day... and the ensuing argument.
I'm not saying it was you, just giving an example of what can be transmitted.
Seriously, turn PTT back on. It can be embarrassing otherwise. |

This is not something that the game should be designed to overcome - this is a player being inconsiderate issue. That player should learn to use his mute. I live near a hospital and fire station and choose to mute my mic whenever I hear a siren coming.
Nobody has enough thumbs to be playing and pressing a button to talk at the same time. |

My microphone wasn't working in Dust even though it was enabled and functioning in PS settings->Accessory settings->...
I had to delete saved data for dust to get it working. |
