a lil introduction - most non-eve dust players will not understand many of the terms used in this. of those that do plz take the time to read through it. tis a very serious set of suggestions =)
Current applicable items:
New Items:
- Sovereignty Siege Unit (required to board Station/iHub interiors)
- Blank Clones (Dust514 Clones)
- Assault Drones (NPC drones to achieve Dust514 player objectives without them)
Current Mechanics that stay:
- System vulnerability via SBUGÇÖs
- All reinforcement mechanics on iHub and Station.
- Reinforcement timing.
- SBU invulnerability whilst iHub in reinforcement mode.
- TCU invulnerability state with iHub in system.
- Sov Infrastructure shield armor and hull HP and ability to reinforce by grinding HP.
New Mechanics:
- System district count and domination of those districts directly affects percentage of reinforcement timer sway on systems iHub
- Reinforcement timer sway can reduce a reinforcement timer by max 6 hours from timer set. This only occurs once the iHub is under its 1st or 2nd reinforcement cycle.
- New 2nd/final reinforcement timer option based on boarding iHub / Station with drones/Dust514 players.
- Aggressors anchor and online up to 6 Sovereignty Siege Units on grid up to a certain distance away from an iHub/station and over a certain distance away from each other.
- SSUs are then filled up with a mix of Blank Clones and Assault Drones.
- Ownership Transfer Contract mechanic designed so that players can transfer in situ captured stations/iHubs to other corps without restrictions to alliance only (eg Mercenaries) The mechanics of these contracts are a fundamental part of the Hostile Takeover Contract.
- Hostile Takeover Contracts are all in one contracts by organisations to mercenaries to take over a station or iHub thats hostile.
Dust514 district domination and application to proposed null sec mechanic
Currently temperate planets are the only ones Dust514 players fight on. In Faction Warfare the amount of districts accessible to Dust514 player in a system directly correlates to a possible 50% decrease in Faction Warfare points needed to take a system. Domination of those districts by the aggressors make a system easier to take and vice versa.
This null sec version is similar except adopts an augmented version of the Faction Warfare Points system. Instead the number of districts available to Dust514 players in a system affects percentage of reinforcement timer sway on systems iHub thats in reinforcement mode.
Reinforcement Timer Sway: If all districts are held by the defender, reinforcement timer stays as it has been set by the owner of the iHub If half of the districts are held by the defender and half have been taken over by the aggressors, the reinforcement timer of the iHub is reduced by 3 hours (50% of max sway). If all of the districts are held by the aggressor the reinforcement timer of the iHub is reduced by 6 hours (100% of timer sway).
...but when does the timer come out? Now obviously district domination can easily be in flux, so the timer for the iHub will be in flux, by up to 6 hours. However if the situation occurs that the iHub is within 6 hours of coming out of reinforcement and the state of district domination reduces that timer to 0, the iHub exits reinforcement permanently until its reinforced again using SSUGÇÖs, a big fleet traditionally reinforcing it or the shields of the iHub are repaired past 50% The state of district dominance after the iHub exits reinforcement does not affect it any more. it cannot be swung back into reinforcement if a district re-flips.
Fights on planets in Dust514 that are not being actively defended are passively defended by defensive NPC drones / installations.
New 2nd reinforcement timer option explained:
Once SSUs are set up one of 4 states occurs:
- NPC Drones launch attack from SSUs to the Station/iHub interior to destroy the secondary reactors that keep primary reactor shielded from attack. if no Dust514 players are present this action takes a set number of minutes (balance issue - to be determined).
- NPC Drones attack the Station/iHub interior to destroy the secondary reactors that keep primary reactor shielded from attack. if they encounter Dust514 players, a notification is sent to corp that own the SSUs around the structure. Dust514 players and NPC drones battle it out. Dust514 players defending Station/iHub have fixed limited clone numbers and no way of getting reinforcements. Aggressors can continually add resources to SSUGÇÖs.
- Dust514 players attack the Station/iHub interior to destroy the secondary reactors that keep primary reactor shielded from attack. They either encounter NPC defenses or other defending mercs and fight it out. Dust154 players defending station have fixed limited clone numbers and no way of getting reinforcements. Aggressors can continually add resources to SSUGÇÖs.
- A mixture of #1, #2 and #3 can occur depending on the mixture of resources in the SSUGÇÖs and the state of defence in the structure.
New final reinforcement cycle explained:
Mechanics of 2nd reinforcement mirrored in final reinforcement but to attack main reactor.
- Dust514 players and/or drones fight to offline the main reactor.
- Once this occurs, they take Station/iHub Ownership by hacking correct console in mainframe room.
- Ownership flips to the owner of the drones (owner of the SSUGÇÖs online) or the corp of the Dust514 player that completes the reconfiguration hack.
- Once this objective completes in Dust514, the contract completes and auto transfers the ownership of the Station/iHub to the corp that created the contract that the Dust514 players accepted.

...inued:
Notes:
- Possible clone reserves may be able to be shown in eve client to observe progress outside of Dust514.
- To further the feeling of Dust514 Players in close proximity to eve players, damage taken to the Station/iHub during 2nd and final reinforcement by a capsuleer fleet will trigger randomised explosions in the Dust514 map. These would occur every 10% of armor and hull reduced.
This secondary option to taking stations and ihubs runs alongside the current one, but has the following advantages:
- Opens up Station flipping to a non shoot mechanic meaning station destruction can be done by shooting it to a firey death.
- IHubs can be flipped and not killed, or killed and replaced if preferred. (this helps sov gaining alliances that do not have resources to re-iHub systems easily)
What this means to Dust514 players:
More map variety More game mode variety The ability to say i was a deciding factor to taking over that star system / constellation / region (delete as applicable) |

shows how much u read... this can reduce sov grind by 2/3rds of what it is currently.
ffs if ur gonna comment on something like this READ IT! |
