These threads pop up from time to time but I feel we could use a bit of positivity on the forums. So why do you play this game? What is it that makes you keep coming back for more?
For me it's shooting people in the face with a Forge Gun. What about the rest of you? |

For me it's shooting people in the face with a Forge Gun. What about the rest of you? Because I like FPS' and I also love having to work with my team to win. And when you combine that I start to chuckle with insanity about my power trip because of how good my team is. (Plus I love dropships and flying in general) |

I like large scale team-based objective multiplayer shooters. I like shooters with low damage/high health. I like scifi. I like the art style for the most part. I like the deep progression system. I like the complexity. I like the customizability. I like the player driven persistent world aspect of MMOs. I like free stuff. |

I play Dust for the teamwork needed to win in organized battles.
I play for the differences that you can face vs other shooters like bf3 where everyone has the same health and your strategy to kill that person does not change very much.
I play it because I love the fact what I am doing will actually matter. The difference one person can make in Dust could be the difference in a corp getting control of a planet or losing it, most other shooters do not offer that ability
I play because I like leveling up games where I work to get better stats/gear. |

^This. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to really DO EVE right now (at least not properly). Dust lets me play in the EVE universe more casually and still have a potential impact.
I'm also a huge fan of Tribes 2 (and I think a few Devs might be too). I haven't really gotten into most other FPSs since because they didn't have as much of a complex interaction system and big-picture concept.
That, and I don't own a console. I had to bum a PS3 off of a friend to play Dust. |

Because it is a game with consequences, and skill based for the most part. Also, destroying stuff that other people worked hard for makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
So basically the same reasons I play EVE. |

-Persistent FPS is a format that has been done well in the past, but with DUST stands to be done right
-Grand thinking company and DEV team willing and unafraid of tackling a challenge they don't necessarily have to tackle, just because it could threaten their bottom line.
-I have been an EVE player since 2008 and would like to see the game grow into something even more grand, extravagant and superior to its competitors.
-Has the potential to deliver fantastic Team based PVE scenarios
-The game world is not nice, if you loose something its gone. Hopefully no hand holding.
-Has the potential to deliver a deeper game then its competitors with the inclusion of EWAR and RTS elements to enhance whats already available.
-Dust allows you to build a character, instead of playing for a weekend and getting the instant gratification and then abandoning it for the next greasy piece of sh*t that slides into the proverbial toilet bowl.
-CCP is not known for abandoning its work.
-Single shard universe makes for a unique gaming environment.
-The promise of Planetary conquest and its potential interaction with EVE.
-The combat doesn't feel like space paintball.
-The potential for industry and market in a FPS.
I could go on but I'm choosing not to because there are a thousand and one reasons to love DUST 514, figure out what tickles your fancy and pursue that. If DUST fails to deliver something that you want, make others aware and find support for your passion, if you have enough patience you may well get it. |

- The last FPS I was addicted to was Quake 1 and Dust brings back that addiction where other modern FPS games don't
- It supports keyboard/mouse
- I'll eventually be able to fund pricey gear through my EVE account
