Um there is a system where the first few seconds noone else can get into the vehicle other than the person who called it in. If you wait past that time then its your own fault. Sorry. I love stealing drop ships (which i have no clue how to fly) and crash them. Its part of eve and if someone is dumb enough to not protect their assests they deserve it. I hope this never changes. |

You don't call in ships in EVE so there's never a chance for someone else to steal it. But, if you do purposely jettison from your ship and leave it floating in space only people with the skills to fly that ship can take it. And that should be the solution here. When I call in a HAV it is locked to me for the first 30 seconds or so. And later on, if I leave it on the battlefield, only people with the required HAV skills can drive it. This would cut down on vehicle theft while not removing it completely. It would also entice people to skill in vehicles so they can drive things they find abandoned on the battlefield.
Its locked to you for about 2-3 seconds. If thats not enough time to take the drivers seat then sorry you lose and you can call in another if you wish too....or maybe next time wait until your in an area with no blueberries around. There is no kiddie mode for you to join on this game. Either play intelligently or suffer the consequences. |

Take the time to read before replying with snarky comments, thanks.
If you notice I was simply responding to the person who I quoted. Thus the reason for my quote of their comment. I already knew that this was explained but some people will continue to argue the point anyway. If I was responding in this comment to your post then I would have made no quotes or quoted your post. Please check quotes before telling people they are dumb for responding to your post when they are obviously responding to someone elses. |

Pretty spot on: Only players with the prerequisite skills should be allow to operate a vehicle (and same for turrets). This way, a newberry wont steal your prototank, but you can still call in a dropship for your (skilled) teammate to fly into buildings.
I dont agree that you have to skill into driving a vehicle. Anyone should be able to drive it. I would agree with you if when you hack/drive a vehicle that vehicle becomes yours such that if the games ends and the vehicle is still alive then it goes to your inventory and not to the person who called it. Right now even if a enemy hacks a vehicle if it survives it goes back to the original owners inventory. |
