You don't call in ships in EVE so there's never a chance for someone else to steal it. But, if you do purposely jettison from your ship and leave it floating in space only people with the skills to fly that ship can take it.

And that should be the solution here. When I call in a HAV it is locked to me for the first 30 seconds or so. And later on, if I leave it on the battlefield, only people with the required HAV skills can drive it. This would cut down on vehicle theft while not removing it completely. It would also entice people to skill in vehicles so they can drive things they find abandoned on the battlefield.

Its locked to you for about 2-3 seconds. If thats not enough time to take the drivers seat then sorry you lose and you can call in another if you wish too....or maybe next time wait until your in an area with no blueberries around. There is no kiddie mode for you to join on this game. Either play intelligently or suffer the consequences.

Its probably what caused this to happen but it couldn't have been more than a couple seconds, it dropped it up in the hills when i called it in down on the road.
