The first person allowed into any vehicle for the first "set amount of time" should ONLY be the one who called it in. Such a simple fix as well, don't understand why it hasnt been implemented. Is there a similar system in EVE? If yes, then it probably should be implemented...if not, there's no way its coming... |

How so when its my thread, but thanks for the troll bump I guess. Doesn't matter if you're the OP or not; making posts like "read the entire thread before posting" are uncalled for and serve no purpose whatsoever, other then to needlessly bump the thread and stroke your ego. |

All I'll say right now is that I will be keeping an eye out for you; would love to take your tank for a joyride into enemy territory :) |

If you wait past that time then its your own fault. Sorry. I love stealing drop ships (which i have no clue how to fly) and crash them. Its part of eve and if someone is dumb enough to not protect their assests they deserve it. I hope this never changes. Pretty spot on: Only players with the prerequisite skills should be allow to operate a vehicle (and same for turrets). This way, a newberry wont steal your prototank, but you can still call in a dropship for your (skilled) teammate to fly into buildings. I dont agree that you have to skill into driving a vehicle. Anyone should be able to drive it. I would agree with you if when you hack/drive a vehicle that vehicle becomes yours such that if the games ends and the vehicle is still alive then it goes to your inventory and not to the person who called it. Right now even if a enemy hacks a vehicle if it survives it goes back to the original owners inventory. I think you should have the skills for it, but then again maybe not. In EVE, from what I understand, you're connected to the ship; essentially become part of it when your pod is inside. In Dust...you're just a driver. Yes, maybe the controls and all are different depending on the vehicle, but it can't be that different than the militia. Same reasoning that anyone can use a turret.
So, really, it would have to go both ways; to use a vehicle, you'd need the skills, but at the same time, to use a turret, you'd need those skills...all or nothing. |
