Hey guys, I was looking up some DUST 514 Vids on youtube the other day, and I noticed one that must of been a bit older.
There was a guy in his merc quarter, and when he approached the solar system thing in the back corner, it gave him an option to track current battles in the cluster.
Why doesn't mine do this? |

In closed beta, it opened up the star map, but we couldn't really do anything but look around. |

The idea is that Dust players can command a ship, the war barge, and travel between the many solar systems of Eve in order to get to the fight they want to. For that you would use the star map. Apparently, CCP decided to disable the map altogether, because the whole war barge mechanic seems far from being a finished game mechanic yet. Like McBob said, we could only browse the star map and look at the different planets, nothing else. |

I guess they will bring it back, at some point. To be honest, the version of Star Map that we used was not very intuitive - region and system names cluttered the view, it was not clear whether you selected one region or another, etc. Moreover, yeah, it doesn't have any productive use as of now, but we all just need to wait. |

It was nice to have IMO, even if just to look around and see some of the universe the game is in.
But yeah, it didn't really have a use, and I'm sure it will be back eventually with more functions... |
