(THESE QUESTIONS ARE DIRECTED TO DUST DEVS ONLY... OPINIONS OF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF THE DUST DEVELOPMENT TEAM ARE, NOT, WELCOME...)
Why do you guys really see a need for SP restrictions? Why make a game that 'revolves' around SP, 'then' make it increasingly difficult to attain said points? In what way does this benefit Dust 514's players? Who does this SP restricting benefit period? |

We need them so that people that have hours and hours of free time do not get a huge unfair advantage against people who work for a living.
It revolves around it because Eve Online revolves around it.
It makes it so that everyone has a fair shot at being even in the leveling field.
SP restricting benefits people that have other duties they have to take care of in life, such as people who work/work long shifts, parents taking care of kids, these are the people that might not be able to play everyday all day. |

You do realise with out teh communities help keeping your post at the top it will never be seen by a dev, it will sink like a stone below all the Im leet i killed 100 people in a battle and the SP hate threads of which this is just another.
Plus the devs are more likely to listen/repond to a large portion of teh community as speaking to individuals will be too costly in time for them.

You should have to grind SP to post on the forums...just sayin.
Anyway, just be happy that you can't lose any SP like you can in Eve (yet). |

Just LOL posting on an open forum and saying no one but dev's need respond children today need to learn I guess if you have a question for the Dev's and don't want other's opinion's then you need to send an email to [email protected] otherwise Me and everyone else will ignore your want's and do as we please and post in any open topic we feel like as shown by the post's already in this topic so good luck with that |

Why would you even say you don't want anyone else's opinions, yet you post on an open forum in the general section. I sense that you are one of these blueberries that do not help the team whatsoever. |

1. CCP never said that Dust was all about SP gains. It's about control of the economy, destroying your enemies by undermining their ranks and cutting off their leadership, making a name for yourself in the history of New Eden, expanding the universe that is New Eden, etc. SP gains are hardly important here. Give me a fleet of 1,000 Ibises and I can destroy a Hulk in high-sec.
2. You are wrong about the opinions of anyone outside the Dev teams. If you even bothered to pay attention the recent voting hosted by CCP Cmdr Wang, you would see that clearly the Devs are going by what WE THE PLAYERS say by a majority vote.
But what do you care. You don't care about my opinions or anyone else's for that matter. You said so yourself. The irony about that is that CCP depends on our opinions. |

In what way does this benefit Dust 514's players? Who does this SP restricting benefit period? Why is there a need for active SP gains at all? Pod pilots don't get them regardless of how many ships or pods they kill. I firmly believe active SP gains are there to keep console players happy and tap into that resource. It must be hard for console jockeys to think about a game instead of being hand led through it. |

These forums really need a dislike option.
Anyways the idea (as I see it) is that people should not be able to unlock everything in a few days of playing the game. It should take years to master everything. This is part of what made EVE so successful. People who have been playing the game more than 5 years still have something to work towards.
I understand the confusion of the OP, most console gamers are too used to playing a game and having everything unlocked, earned, etc within a few months of playing, just in time for the next installment of the series to be ready for release. |

Maybe in low-sec, but definitely need way more than that for high-sec ganking. Ever seen a F***-OFF-TANKED Hulk?

If you are serious about understanding this topic you will have to do some homework. EVE and DUST are two sides of the same coin. New Eden is a massive persistent single shard virtual world. This game has no ending where they roll the credits. EVE is now in it's second decade of existence. Let that sink in. There will never be a sequel for DUST. It will only grow or die trying.
Stop sweating your SP. I completely understand why you want to catch up with vets, but you can't. Not in SP.
If you want to go big, prepare for the meta-game. Go subscribe to EVE news sites like TheMittani.com. Look at what is going on in EVE. This is what you have to look forward to. Full scale galactic war is coming and your SP will not save you. Hint: Your friends will.

CCP does not want NEETs (not in education, employment, or training. the technical term for no-lifer) to rule the game.
they would like to give people at least a chance to be progression competitive. daily caps hinder this (not everyone can play each day) but weekly caps do not (everyone can find time, a little bit during the week, a lot during the weekend) to keep up with the NEETs |

We are doing it for our own entertainment since this is a public forum and all.

There's a cap so CCP can get more of your money. If you burn through all your skills in a couple of months, that's not very profitable for them, is it?
There's a reason there was no 6th option to vote on an unlimited SP cap. It's funny, people think it's a democracy, but when they take your options to vote on away, that's tyranny. |

The devs don't respond to threads demanding a Dev response as a general rule.
they are not your buttbunnies that respons when you crack the whip. Your arrogant demand that they do so has merely encouraged the rest of us to mock you for your idiocy.
Let me repeat: THE DEVS DO NOT RESPOND TO THREADS DEMANDING THEIR ATTENTION DIRECTLY 99.9% of the time.
And nor should they. My dog comes when I holler her name. I don't expect other human beings to be quite so obedient.
You shouldn't either.
Edit: i don't care if my post is unwelcome, you get to deal with it. Now excuse me while I wipe my feet off on your sofa. |

Then you should not have posted this in the community forum and the general forums at that.
