Don t u think there is a need for an overall Commander who can give orders to the single teams? This could be a skill to train ... the higher the skill the more teams u can give simultaneously orders.
What do u think ? |

We will eventually get a commander in the MCC who will basically be playing a Real Time Strategy role.

Implemented in the game ?Will this be a Dust player who doesn t participate anymore on the filed?
Maybe it would be nice when eve pilots could skill a"commander " skill to take command roll on the battlefield, just concentrating on giving orders . That would be cool and the games would come one step closer |

What!? You want some inexperienced cappy giving us orders! Outrageous! Blasphemy!
Nah , in all seriousness. It sounds like a nice idea. And it would probably be an Eve player who has also been playing Dust. But at the same time we need experienced soldiers giving orders. We don't want some guy behind a desk with no field experience. |

There are only two problems in the way of player MCC commanders.
1. Game modes: Every mode that isn't Ambush that CCP has given has made the MCC itself one of the objectives. In this situation, a "tanked" MCC is going to be considered OP, which means that player MCCs shouldn't be allowed in this kind of mode. Solution: modes that do not have the MCC as an objective!
2. RTS on a console: *open palms* Look at all the good console RTS games. Just look at them! (OK, Halo Wars was supposed to be good, and EndWar had potential, but still...) Basically, CCP needs to come up with a darn good scheme to issue commands with. Knowing them, i'm sure that they won't give us Commander jobs without ensuring it's decent enough. Solution: A darn good control scheme - because you'll command players, the AI problems with that genre are a non-issue.
Once both of those are clear, then CCP can give us the commander post. |

Without being immodest, I think I could rock at being an MCC Commander. Don't worry, I'm just saying that because I suck at playing the game itself (at least on the kill people side) but I have a few strategies that could come into play, especially on a large team scale.
Also, MCC should be able to trigger remote explosives. So many times I have died just as the Objective I booby trapped started to be hacked. It's a painful experience. |

I would like to see remote explosives act like a dead man switch. I you die then your explosives go off. Where ever they are.
With an MCC, I would hope to see an expansion of features to troops, like a transfer of explosive detonation control. Repair options for logistics, an increase of sniper range, field operation expanse, reinforcement option, movement of MCC option. This should require a eve pilot in orbital control or skilled merc corp leader CEO x5 skill with access to a ground control center, or something similar. |

I'm not awesome at this game, but I have plenty of experience. I also have an EVE toon that's 6 years old. It might be better for mediocre Dust players to FC a match from the EVE side if they are more accustomed to leading medium sized fleets anyway.

I say look at Battlefield 2 on the PC. Digital Illusions and EA did an amazing job incorporating a Field Commander to oversee a teams operations and designate orders. if the CCP dev team could just mimic this, it would be a great feature to the overall gaming experience. Especially those who players who are deeply invested in the development of their corporations or just want to become Notable Merc Commanders, making handsome salaries winning corp battles for the length of their contracts.
I can only imagine the drama and excitement as competing corporations try to out bid a successful Battle Commander to join their corporation. Battle Commander Drafts, Trade Windows, buy out packages, exclusive rights to prototype technology developed by the corporations mother EVE corp. Oh the fun..... |
