not sure if this would ever happen, but here goes.
barring any catostrophic problems, within 5 years, dust and eve should be fully integrated.
now-backstory, eve is a universe colonized by humans who came through the EVE GATE, which subsequently collapsed, causing civilization to be reset.
fast forward 23,000ish years and you're at today in EVE.
i belive an awesome expansion(for both dust and EVE) would be to see that gate reopen. it having been 23,000 YEARS! the humans that come out of it will be technologically advanced(like, gods in comparison to EVE humans) and they wage war on everyone, indescrimanate. the empires are forced to unite to even have a chance of surviving the relentless onslaught.
say, oh, 30 systems around the EVE GATE are temporarily lost(or permanent, up to CCP) that are is death to ANYONE that tries to enter.
NOW, the 5 main empires , though united, can't hope to win withought the help of the player corporations help( eve AND dust)
players have to come to gether, regardless of animosities, to fight off these super incursions, otherwise they temporarily lose access to the system and everything in it.
just a rough idea, not some epic story teller/ game expansion designer.
give your 0.02 ISK, and run with it
TL;DR: gaint expansion, everyone work together or be humbled. tons of pew pew for both games |

This is an idea that has come up many times in EVE Online and the conclusion people have come to is.... No, do not want.
While people have come up with all kinds of ideas from the old sol being abandoned and finding no trace of humanity to like your idea humanity kicking ass. the idea is normally rejected.
And your idea people would drop faster than hot coals in the hand. losing 30 odd systems is a loss of several billion isk a day not to mention the people who would be displaced getting nothing from it.
So id say no, bad idea and honestly i don't want to return to sol but feel free to let your imaginations run wild.
1 last thing.... 5 main empires? unless your counting the Jovians, a mythical race of people who haven't been seen in god only knows how many thousands of years there are only 4 empires. |

our dark age was rather recent mind you...
Also Terrans, if still alive. would STEAM ROLL US.
One battleship cannon recovered and salvaged took out an entire Minmatar invasion fleet in one shot which had the largest ship in their navy a Ragnarok Titan. Destroying said weapon destabilized the fabric of New Eden and created rifts of unstable wormholes.
Also verses the Jovian we're almost on par with them now technology wise, just something most people didn't notice. |

couldn't really find anything on the terrans, so didn't include them, however, aren't the devs in-game flying jovian ships? read that somewhere in the EVEopedia, so added them to my scenario |
