What do you feel is the better place for new people to the game to learn? Where do you feel they will learn more? Where do you think they are most likely to go to for there info?
Just discussion topic not a statement.

New players will most likely to go to local chat(I did) but will ultimately learn more on the forums. Overall both are good at helping new players but the forum has everything already compiled for you.

Personally, until I get a usb keyboard/mouse, I prefer to give detailed help on the forums (my thumbs get so tired using the controller) so for detailed questions, or conversations, I believe the forums are the best place to go, and those of us in local really should point more people towards the forums in an attempt to get people to research the game.

Having said that local provides a nice simple place to make first contact with the community and is good enough for simple questions/clarification.

Overall I would say forums for help/conversation, local for casual chat/sqaud finding.

I would say the training ground is the best place for new players to learn. That's the whole point of it after all.

Forums are better for me, because everyone is busy in local.

Your chances of a decent response is way higher around here then local if you don't come off trolly. If you do come off trolly - then hold your hats your in for a ride.

My local is constantly full of trolls, whiners, and recruitment spam.

When I'm active in local, and a topic comes up where it's worth doing so, I'll usually direct people to the forums rather than giving the huge multi-post comprehensive answer that would be necessary to actually resolve the issue they're having.

And if they ask for more help, I also usually direct them here.
