Everyone:
... I've noticed that when I repair the armor on other players, one receives either a +25, +30 or +35, depending on the tactical situation the player whose armor you're keeping intact is in.
Yet, when I direct my energies toward vehicles or installations, nothing seems to really happen. No points, no seeming improvement in the armor of LAVs, HAVs and whatnot. I assume that there's a reason for this? Perhaps to prevent "spamming" of repair points? If so, is it permanent or temporary? This also occurs sometimes with players, too GÇö the logi doesn't always earn points for bringing players' armor back up. I assume it's some sort of anti-spam defense, but if so, why? With an SP cap in place, it doesn't seem to really be necessary.
That said, I completely understand why, when a player is revived and the logi earns a +60, but said player goes down again a short time later, I understand why the same logi wouldn't get *another* +60 for reviving that player again in such a short time. Even with an SP in place, that could be abused in a manner that puts the logi at the top of every post-game leaderboard.
Perhaps the reasoning above also holds true for the seeming indiscriminate lack of points when repairing players, vehicles and/or installations?
Anyway, just some rambling from me at 2 in the morning. Your mileage may vary, but insights are always appreciated from fellow Dust 514 gamers. |

Dr Debo Galaxy wrote:I've notice when repping people it is a constant repair. The health line goes up steadily. When repping vehicles and turrets and the like it goes up in sections. Also I believe there has to be a basic amount of armor repaired to recieve the wp and I believe it is higher for non-people. Plus there is some kind of limit with repping per life on people. So there is a finite amount you can rep a person and still get points before they respawn, not revive. This may go for non-people also. So if i'm with a heavy rep him lets say for 5-7 "triage +25" that is it till he respawns not revived to be clear. I am more of a medic than mechanic, but I believe the system is similiar.
Also I get more points from repping than reviving.
and the +30 is probably from squad order and +35 is from gaurdian
Hmm. I hadn't considered the possibility that there was a "life limit" to the repair points you could get from another player. Interesting, and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. I wonder if the developers could shed further light on this matter ...

True, but I'm primarily using the Fractal A7 repair tool. That thing is sweet, too, keeping *two* allies alive at once, and doing so in a more efficient manner than lower-level repair tools.

That was true during a certain period of the closed beta, but I was under the impression that that had been removed once the overall issue of "repair abuse" was resolved by the developers in a later closed-beta build. Am I wrong on this matter?
