Take a calculator (it works with most so try another if it fails).
Turn it on
1) Press "1"
2) Press "+"
3) Press "+"
4) Press "1"
5) Press "="
Your calculator should now display the number 2.
Now each time you hit "=" going forward you will recieve and extra skill point so you will have 3 then 4 then 5 and so on. This will continue until you calculator runs out of digits to display you UBER sp total. However I can guarentee thsi wont happen in your life time.
Problem solved. No diminishing returns, no "loss" of SP for being good and press ='s faster than your friends.
What a horrible society we live in nowaday why is everyone Take Take Take.
Whats wrong with playing a game because you enjoy it. Enjoyment being the reward you can have fun for hours. Why does it become less enjoyable if some arbitary figure stops going up as quick? |

why should i even try to pull down 2K+ WP a game when it caps at 1000? i'll just hit my 1k and go hide behind my redline for the rest of the game.
I spend 3k a clone on equipment ie the worst sorta gear. I work 9-5 so my SP total is on the low side. Does it stop me going 37-4 25-1 12-0 15-6, on a regular basis. Does it stop my team from winning more than we lose? (only just above 1 but thats just pub matches for you)
The answer to these questions is no, and do you know why?
FPS games are about twitch skill and positioning. You can have your 100,000,000,000,000 SP you can have your Special Proto gear that 20% better than mine, but do you know what you cannot shoot through walls and if you cannot aim at my avatar then guess who will be wasting another expensive clone. That would be YOU. So hide behind your red line with you 1k SP cap and lets see who dominates in 3 months time through pure practise alone.

Now we are getting somewhere, slowly you're understanding, An ever increasing number is pointless as far as "Fun" goes.
Lets put it another way.
FPS mark 1 - You destroy your enemies 10-1, you get all objectives, make 100 repairs and revive 50 people.
FPS mark 1 rewards you with 10SP
FPS mark 2 - You destroy your enemies 10-1, you get all objectives, make 100 repairs and revive 50 people.
FPS mark one rewards you with 10000000000SP
Which game is more fun?
Its all about fun why are you worried about SP?
So lets imagine there is no cap You destroy your enemies 10-1, you get all objectives, make 100 repairs and revive 50 people.
your rewarded with 10000000000SP now you bought all skills in the game and they are all at level 5, you have SP left over. Is the game no longer any fun? If so save your self some time and take the capitalised advice your think we were giving you "UNINSTALL NOW" before you waste your time.
But it is looking like the calculator game is for you, the game is irrelevant you just want a way to flex your epeen ie "look at me a play 24 hours I day and I have a bigger number than you arn't I awesome." |

It was consistant 27k a day +50SP for each additional game. Its still consistant 259k a week + 1000SP for each addition game. So why so many tears about 1000k SP after cap. OK its not 1 billion. But its 100x more than 10. Sounds to me like you do care even though you say you dont.
who is this "average" player. Your total skill points wont help you kill "average" player if average player can aim and duck better than you.
10 SP total or 1 billion SP total says nothing about a players level of skill. Think of SP as more of a clock that you can accelerate slightly by being active. It is still a clock counting up time spent in game not skill aquired.
When you flex your 2 million SP on the forum we dont know if thats 10000 SP a day from 20 games a day because your aweful but played alot, we dont know if it 30,000 SP from 20 games a day because you are "average" and play alot, or if it 30,000SP from 1 game a week because your UBER skilled.
Take SP out and all it boils down to is are you having fun? Do you enjoy the game? Are you enjoying what you are doing? If your answers are yes then carry on and dont worry about SP. If the answer is no the game isnt for you move on to another more suitable title. But good luck find one out there that rewards Skill not time, ive looked and not found one yet. |
