Now Im technically a newberry myself (less than 3 or 4 days now) but I know the basics. You Hack Turrets/Depots/Null Cannons and you kill the other guys. But if you havnt taken the time to Read the notes on the load screens or ask someone for help then please PLEASE dont just jump in a game. When I get 500 WP in a game and Im the #1 player on my team then somthing is terribly wrong. Ive played plenty of FPSs and ive played EVE so Dusts general design is not alien to me. But if your going to play any kind of game at least take the 5 minutes it takes to know the most basic of game principles. |

I knew I would get some flames for posting this. Thanks for those that at least seem to paritally understand what I was getting at. Now Im not a horrible player (not the bottom of the barrel) but Im not the best either and I know that. When I have a Good squad I can do good, but throw me with teammates who cant even do the basics and all Im doing is wasting ISK from all the Fits Ill be burning through (I can win 1 on 1s but when its 1 on 3/4 thats another story). The point of the OP (I came off very condescending and that does happen when ANYONE is angry) was that regardless of what type of game you play (FPS/MMO/RTS/Fighting) that you need to understand and know how to do what is neccesary to win said games. |

Dr Debo Galaxy wrote:he is new and only gets 500 wp. how can he see, no mention of capping ABCDE which would be way more important than turrets/depots.
I didn't get on the forums and read anything and I figured it out. Basically who is a new person to tell people they need to read something and get better.
I feel he needs to read more or get more help. These people are new also, they will learn when and how they learn, and if there was no demand or malice to it, why is read in caps and calling people newberries? That doesn't seem helpfull
Helpfull: hey guys I'm new like you, here is a great resource to get even better, insert players name who is helpfull or link.
As I said afterward I realized it came off condesending and apologized about that. If you noticed I did mention capping NULL Cannons which are the lettered objectives in the game. The key problem is that people expect to just be able to jump into games. No one anymore takes the 5 to 15 minutes before starting to play any game to try and figure out how it works. My first about 30 minutes to hour I did nothing but look through the NeoCom. Read through the skills, and look through the Starter Fits to see how they basically went together. As I said Im not the best nor am I the worst, but my performance in game does hinge on whether my teammates can actually contribute or not. When your in games where 500 WP is #1 then most of your teammates are not contributing, or only contributing to the opposing teams kill count. |

Dr Debo Galaxy wrote:I did not mean to "flame" you it's that you are admittedly new and saying people need to read up on the game. Why can they notfigure it out for themselves. I am not complaining that you are wasting my isk because you have been in the game for only 5 days. If people wanna learn let them learn if they don't then let them not learn. All you can control is how you play. So I should get on these forums and complain that the OP needs to go read more about stratigies of the game.
Oh I agree with you that all I can control is how I play. After realizing that my team was not really doing anything I just spawned in the MCC and waited for the match to end. That 500WP had me in first on my team almost the entire game. What boggles my mind is how anyone can actually enjoy somthing when they are being severly beat by the opposing side. |
