Some of you may have seen the twitter thing about DUST 514 breaking 600,000 characters created and some sort of wager...
So, anyone want to bet against DUST reaching a cool million characters created before down time on Monday next? |

750,000 would be my bet.
CCP has to market this game a bit more down the line whenever more content arrives. :) |

It is standing at 888K right now, with an average of 3K new players joining every hour. At this rate it should be at 960K this time tomorrow, and just over a million the day after. |

at this rate... well be breaking eve number of pilots ever made... in record times. I mean if we keep even 5% retention rate I would call that a success. |

And the most important point is that this is just Open Beta, not even the "full release" that the devs talk about for summer. Yes, yes, I know "open beta forever", but 1.0 is scheduled for summer. |

Are you kidding? It's a free game and it's not even out of beta. Anybody sitting in front of their PS3 bored and looking for something new to try will hit this game up. It's a no-brainer. Over 70 million PS3s sold worldwide... is 1/7 PS3 owners out of the question? I certainly don't think so. Here's to 10 million players in 2013! |
