Iron Wolf Saber wrote:Ahem. For those of you who don't know too much, we had to purge our clone generations a few times they had some defects and many of us had to get all of our training reset and all memories associated with those experiences. Many of the gen 1s went crazy, misguided, rambling, painting walls in their clone's blood. What Mordu and the Empires didnt want to admit to us is that a large number of the Gen 1s where not, deactivated. They escaped....
Gen 2s didn't fare much better. Gen 3s where the start of using Amarrian technologies and Gen 4s are fully reversed engineered amarrian implants made clean of any possible tricks.
This what is believed to be causing the mayhem now. There have now been two attempts of Tibus Heath's Life by an Immortal Soldier so far, it would not surprise me if a third is being attempted now.
one of the gen. 2's. i can attest, it wasn't fun, lost some good friends to the sickness
and the swarm nightmares still haunt me |

Gen 2 here then, it was 'another day, another yahoo with a swarm launcher blowing my face off at point-blank range'
I do miss the crater lake map, the small blaster turret field gun, and that funky rotating platform that the gun controls for the large turrets sat on |

Also some interesting information relating to this can be found at Podside episode where David Reid was there last time to talk.
He pretty much said that there would be these kind of events hapening to introduce DUST into New Eden universe and lore. Mut he mentioned also that thise events aren't set in stone, but players in EVE and DUST can shape those events by participating in them and for example deciding to protect some criticall asset or stage a massive attack on somewhere.
Interesting times. |

VK deathslaer wrote:rouge drones And we were doing so well until you showed up. Thanks for that. "Rouge" is a type of red makeup, or a word for that makeup's specific shade of red. You should, like everyone else in the thread, be using the word "rogue", which actually means what you think "rouge" means.
Also, reading through your posts basically tells me that you don't know what's going on any more than the rest of us. It's totally legitimate to assume this is the first appearance of DUST-scale Rogue Drones. The panic is logical, because unlike other encounters, where they've been space-borne and no threat to infrastructure, they're now attacking planetary facilities. Why? Because if they didn't, we DUST Mercs would be out of an excuse for co-op modes.
We already knew this was coming, and I can see plenty more reasons to support the theory than disprove it. |

It may do, and if it does, I look forwards to encouraging my more pve oriented friends to finally sign up, with the hopes of coaxing them into pvp as time wears on.
After all, killing players is all well and good, but sometimes you just need to kick Skynet in the balls. |

Really exciting development, thanks for the clarifications from EVE vets on what this means.

Fine, as long as I don't ever ever need to engage in PvE unless I want to. |
