After several months I have finally got around to messing with the Drop Uplinks. I know, what took me so long? Anyway, there is something I do not understand about them. (And I cannot seem to find an answer through the Search function.)
If you get two per Dropsuit, and I drop them both, then I get killed... I only see ONE to spawn at on the Map for my next life. Both droplinks will still be "alive" once I'm on the field; I've checked. I can even drop two more with that next life, and once I get killed again, will STILL only see the one on the map to spawn at.
How does this work? |

When you deploy the new uplink, the old one disappears. It might be a bug that you still see the old one. |

The drop uplink info should say how many can be carried, how many can be active, how many spawns it supports and also spawn timer reduction.
You should check that because entry level drop uplinks will probably only allow 1 active at the same time, meaning that your 2nd uplink will cancel the first. |

The other one you see on the map might also be an uplink that was put down by another player. Most uplinks only allow you to have one active, but there is an advanced version that lets you have two up and running. |

then read the stats of the uplink and realize that the basic only one active allowed per player . . .switch to the calibrated uplink (dont know if it called so - item names are localized too) and you can have 2 active
and maybe the enemy found and destroy your uplink |

Stats on the Drop Uplinks include Max Active, Max Carried, Spawns per Unit and Spawn Time Modifier.
You have to see what the Drop Uplink you're using can do, but there ARE DUs that can have two active at a time. The Gauged ones generally allow more active at a time. |

Also the supreme documentation for uplinks fails to mention that most of them only work for your squad. So if you are alone in your squad, or in one with no communication, you are the only one that will be using it. I think the hacked one int the merc pack works for the whole team, i dont know if any of the isk varieties do, does someone else know the answer? |

I've noticed everyone using my drop uplinks (militia bpo variant).
Also, if you use different kinds of uplinks they will all remain in play (at their maximum value) until destroyed. |

Ah.....
"Max Active"
Somehow I missed this. There just aren't enough stats in this game.
Seems to me though that the FIRST uplink I drop is what remains active sometimes, not the SECOND or successive ones. |

If you drop it in an obvious spot someone will shoot it to death or camp it. |

A few things on DUs, the last one you throw down is the active one (first one self destructs), if you place them down and they get propped up on its side it will not work and self detonate, on ambush maps anyone can spawn on your DU, in skirmish only your squad can spawn from it (not sure if there is a DU that let's anyone spawn from it for a skirmish). |

My gauged uplinks seemed to only work for my squad. Any other with max 2 active that works for the whole team? Thought the hacked one let the whole team do it in skirmish |

Also, nobody has mentioned yet that you can carry more than one variant of nanohives and uplinks and deploy them simultaneously.
I had 3 uplinks, 9 nanohives, 6 proximity mines, and 2 remote explosives around B on manus peak two days ago. This is especially important when you start to be able to get the healing hives.
I'm beginning to think support/logi classes will be WP kings in the endgame with the focus on vehicles. |
