they look down and said "hey, i think i could use a hole there"
now they have a rather dead FPS on a console that will be replaced shortly.
Can you back these claims up with any evidence at all?
Let me help here.
Rumor has it that the new project titan from blizzard is an MMOFPS set to compete against either planetside 2. Since the popularity of blizzard games is extensively massive and that blizzard does have 10 years of mmo building in their belt they can release a rather comprehensiveness MMO FPS game capable of killing off planetside 2 entirely.
Planetside 2 has a 6 month road map full of features that would make just about any fps shooter mad and red and heck since the core issue with that game is 'why win, ergo why play?' is not being addressed at all. Instead we are seeing a large number of whines being addressed by players unwilling to adapt and a generic increase of laziness as they introduce new guns and vehicles that are the same across the three factions and are not even considering half of the goals Dust 514 is going twoards. All in all a new vehicle, a new pistol and smg and launcher, few cannons for the sunder and one continent and making it harder to lose.
Meanwhile Call of Duty is making another iteration back to ww2 it seems with a new studio in charge, they have yet to release a cod title as the main developer, many feel they would just rip the mordern warfare 3 engine again and do what tryarch does. Copy and paint over. While offering no new game breaking strides that makes it stand out as a real sequel. The last such iteration was the progressive system in cod 4. Its expected that mw2 servers will be shut down by then.
Battlefield Bad Company 3 is scheduled to be out soon and by gawd its the worst idea once again and its expected the multiplier would be a slightly spruced up version of BF3s current. Also Battlefield 4 is currently in the works now and it may most likely get delayed to shift over to the new console. Battlefield's new plan is to release a new title every year to compete with the likes of Call of Duty.
Fallout 4 (RPGshooter) is going back to Washington waste lands however it may not be out this year.
As for other shooters... on any platform there is nothing that's going to make them big in 2014. Halo wars 2 is said to be out in 2014 to meet microsoft's annual title goal. As well as possible season 2 of spartan ops for halo 4 to keep the fans happy. Halo 5 may not be out until 2016.
Matter of factually most titles mentioned above will get drowned out by thier newer versions in 2014 and 2015 subsequently so who gives a damn? I mean look at the original MMOFPSers for PC. Huxley, Planetside 1, and Global Agenda are all getting or has a sequel which usually indicates a royal screw up somewhere and that some sequel is going to fix it.
