IF the heavy spots you, and you're nowhere near cover, and you're in his optimal range. ask yourself 'how did i get into this situation' then figure out how to not repeat it (while you're respawning)
Actually you can run jump and manouver around the heavy get him all confused enough to overheat or run out of bullets but for that you have to be reasonably good.
If you're not so good then try spotting him earlier, in which case you can burn him down at your leisure over his maximum range while he sprays in your general direction to no avail. If he suddenly stops shooting and runs away then he may well have run out of bullets, or overheated, in which case hes gonna take ages to cool down or reload (8 sec). Go kill him.
IF you spot a heavy before he spots you don't just run up to him and start shooting (unless you're a shotgun scout, in which case just make sure you're really close) Try and get behind the heavy, or wait til hes distracted. Have cover available. then lob a grenade to soften him up and empty a clip into, preferably, his head. OR back of and use your range to your advantage.
PS watch out for assault HMG they have same range as standard AR. go get a tactical AR they shoot further, or get skilled with a mass driver, they hate them. OR get a tank. Tanks kill heavies no problem.  |

1. Be at any distance,
2. Get behind a cover (failing to do so in close range means instapop) show only your head
3. Aim to the head,
4. Breath & shoot (preferably at the same time)
5. Teabag.

Any one of these (when used properly) will take out an HMG Heavy.
- Cover
- High Ground
- Stealth (lower your profile)
- Speed, specifically strafing speed (I've taken out HMG Heavies with an SMG)
- Headshots
- Range
- Free LAV "Death Taxi"
- Nanohive + Nades
Of course all of the above overlooks the best way to accomplish anything in Dust 514 Teamwork

heavies can't be arsed to chase you all over the map, use that to your advantage.
If one sees you, run away, he'll try to chase you for a bit until he runs out of breath.
At this point he'll turn his back and lower his guard, if you're feeling lucky, stalk him, and wait for him to get distracted with a hack or something.
Approach him and melt his sorry ass with the weapon of your preference
It's entertaining, really, heavies are so easy to manipulate |

funny how none of the HMG users are here to give any tips. But they sure go crazy when the word nerf goes off, i wonder why? if they are so good with everything else as they say, why do they b*itch and moan if the HMG is getting nerfed. I would be like who gives a f*uck i am good with the AR anyways i dont need 500 hp. The truth is that some of them suck with out their HMG. |
