Havn't had so much fun. SInce I started playing.
Its super fast and deadly.
Only playing it at lower level equipment at the moment. But its great for picking off the weak and getting the jump on heavies.
Not really great at going toe to toe with other suits directly but if I'm doing a rear assault a well placed grenade evens the odds. I tend to use a breach SMG for some range and backpeddlers.
I recommend people try it.
Anyone got any advice on speed/stealth ambush scout shotgun builds? |

I get just as many kills in my all militia shotgun scout (with literally 0sp invested in any relevant modules) as I do in my skilled up HMG heavy, it's all about abusing your speed and low sig radius to sneak up on groups of enemies, lob a grenade, then rake in the kills with your shotgun. Always jump and dance around, people hate that ^_^ |

I'm glad someone else appreciates the amazing shotgun and the way to properly use it. The most important thing to worry about believe it or not is the light weapon proficiency which gives you a percentage in weapon effective range. This my friend is your best friend. Specially when going head to head with those assaults. A long range one shot is humiliating. As for fittings I'm currently using basic plates which give more hp at the cost of 3% movement speed which for the scout is really pocket change and shield extenders for more....shields duh! Also make sure you level up your skills that give more shields, stamina regen and shield regen. With that said just play around with everything else and share different approaches you've had with this amazing build. |

I have two scout shotgun builds I run with: cheap and expensive. Of course, since I'm not really specialising I don't have the skills required for the really good, really expensive gear, but it's still more costly than my militia build.
But everyone else has already called out my gear: kinetic catalysers, light damage modifiers, SMG backup, so forth. I don't actually mess with anything involving shields or armour, simply because if I'm getting hit before I can open fire, I'm not doing my job right. I prefer ducking in and out of cover, running away and then ambushing chasers, or just catching people by surprise rather than running in front of them for a shotgun blast to the face.
But on my more expensive build I've been toying with Nova Knives. It's actually great fun when you flank an enemy position and start stabbing them in the back. The only problem is my skill is too low to really utilise them well. |

Shotgun scout militia fit guide by yours truly.

I ran with Nova Knives for a while, which is a lot of fun. But when you think about it, NKs don't make much sense on a shotgun scout, since you are already a close-range fighter - so they are not of much use. Scrambler Pistol or SMG gives you more reach for those situations where you can't close the distance fast enough. They also do the job of NKs when you run out of shots to finish the enemy off. |

Oh this does sound like fun!
I find this ninja shotgun scout is really good at team support. I run with a drop uplink (not that the noobs know to spawn there) and sometimes a nanite injector as a fast medic.
Think about a fast stealth anti AV build too.
My Forge Gun heavy is getting boring. Nobody seems to be using LAVs anymore.

My skills are too low to use a good dropsuit that'll let me put a drop uplink on it [although if I could, I would], but I still have fun in Skirmish racing to objectives and capturing them before anyone has a clue. With my Scout with kinetic catalysers, I am literally faster than anyone else I have come across. Even more so when I have the Nova Knives out.
But I'm not much of a support player. I keep trying to be a medic logi but I can never reach my teammates in time.
And I keep running into LAVs in my games, I don't know what you're talking about. I love my Forge Gun Heavy, even if it is purely militia. |
