It would be possible to do an exit or an exit option in the game? It's very annoying to have to go back to the PS3 OS to quit the game and return to choose another character. thank you! |

yes, this would be a great thing to have. As far as I know Eve and Dust are the only games that require you to exit the game to select a different toon. which quite honestly is probably going to be the deal breaker for me .
I know it's a free to play game, but since I'm already out of the game I think I'll play something else while I'm here. that's what I usually do once I exit, and maybe the next time I log on to play I'll remember what it was I was going to do last time, or maybe I'll just play madden, or log on to WoW and swap between all my toons and not have to completely exit the game while I do it.
I mean come on, how hard is it really? I know it can be done, CCP did once before with eve, I know, I have been playing that game for 7 years, and they had the option in the past so figure it out and make it happen and quit making excuses for why you can't do it. because as cool as these games are, you are still a one trick pony in a carnival full of other fun things to see and do. |

Dark Souls only lets you select the character from the initial menu. To choose another one must exit the game. I know of others as well. Not all that uncommon a solution to the limited memory situation.
This is directly tied to PS3 memory allocation/reallocation and the current game engine. So it might not be solvable with the current technology. And why spend development resources to solve this little problem when the PS4 is going to be sucking up most of the resources very soon.
Just so it is clear you might recall that EVE runs on a PC. Which has more memory on the graphics card then the entire PS3 has. It is incredibly hard to squeeze a modern game down to the limitations of game consoles. So making that comparison between a similar problem between a 512MB game console and a multi-year development cycle on a many GB PC that is most certainly less than 7 years old is just nonsensical.

You can get to the character select screen without quitting the game by signing out of PSN. It's not an ideal solution though. |
