To everyone else, my connection is pretty ****. I rarely get dropped from other online games. The only game that actually ever crashes is Skyrim or New Vegas.

The only time this game crashes is when I'm in battle, but surely enough, it crashes within 15 minutes of playing a new patch, EVERY. TIME.

I actually left my character in his quarters as I took an immense diarrhea (really bad stomach virus this week), and came back 30 minutes later and game was still going. I join a match (after trying over 6 times) and get 2 kills, 2 deaths then boom - game crash.

I promise it's this game. A beta that has been out this long should have had crashing issues like this fixed by now. Maybe I'm the only one - or maybe I'm the only one who bothered coming to the forums and gave enough of a **** to say something about it instead of just going off to play some other game (like I've been doing for the past 1/4 of a year).

Let me school ya somethin'. Here's a PERFECT analogy that will help you see how asanine stating it's a beta is in order to excuse it of any wrong doings.

Imagine you have an 8 year old child. Your child hits you in the face repeatedly. YOU would say it's okay bcause he isn't an adult yet.

NO. IT IS NOT OKAY. Your child should have learned as a baby not to hit in the face, (the exact same way you can teach a dog as a puppy not to bite hard at all while it's a puppy - for all my dog owners out there).

Yes IT'S A BETA, but crashing problems should be fixed certainly within 6 months, CERTAINLY BEFORE BECOMING AN OPEN BETA. Your "it's a beta" argument is stale and invalid. I've been in over 10 betas, some FPS, some not, and I can tell you by the time it becomes an open beta, it's usually nearly finished. By that point they usually just focus on balance issues and MINOR glitches, which after looking at the last patch notes it had a **** load of balance fixes.

Read the writing on the wall. Anyone who chalks any beta issue up to "it's a beta" has clearly not been in very many betas. There were a lot of issues in MAG's beta that never got fixed and everyone just kept saying "it's a beta herp derp derp derp!" and look where it is now: It doesn't get enough players to even launch it's signature game mode.

Core of the game is here - but as with any beta we're still working out all the kinks and details. This game doesn't use a lot of the same techniques other MMO's have employed. It's already strange enough hit detection is from the client. Everytime CCP adds something new something else breaks. That's what we're here for - to straighten that all out. Sometiems that means it comes with crashes. Sometimes it means it comes with lag.

As long as we are still in anything that can be defined as 'beta' then we are as such. It may be an over-used excuse and may start to sting when heard but that doesn't take away from the validity of the comment.

There's very little room for subtlety on this forum. I've tried, but when you are wading through post after post from bleating sheep, you have to be a little more direct.

I think it would go a LONG way towards making the community feel a bit more involved if they'd release some kind of schedule on upcoming fixes/changes to the engine.

SOE just released this list of upcoming changes to Planetside 2 yesterday.

There's just not enough feedback. The biggest concern is the awful frame-rate and I've yet to hear a dev address this issue.

It's more of a timeline thing and the lack of it makes me feel like they really don't know what to do with the shooting (most important part) aspect of the game at all.

Just confirmation of things like " Yes, the frame-rate will be greatly improved in the next build which is scheduled for release in March" etc.

Like the game would be worse if it had the rock solid engine and game-play mechanics that BF3 offers. It's a bizarre form of defensiveness that I've only come across on this forum.

I find it hard to believe that anyone could find the frame-rate for example, to be acceptable.

Yet we have bleating sheep telling me that it's my router.

I will respond exactly how I see fit. Deal with it.
