Personally I believe it would have been better if they named the Dust ISK something else, that way one could balance it out more better, like for instance the Dollar and the Euro. Now when you hear isk, you think off the same thing yet the value's are different.
For Eve Isk to have the same value as Dust Isk, one would have to devide it by a 100, to get the same ruff value. 1 Mil Eve Isk would then have the value off 10000 dust Isk 100 mil = 1 mil 1 Bil = 10 mil
This would be the best method, since if this where not to be implemented one single donation of a Billion isk, would set you up for life. Later when the full game is released, i believe there will be items in dust like the installations and support MCC's that will cost over 1 mil Dust Isk. using this method would then also mean corporation would have to seriously invest to be able to use those things.
Market wise it would be better aswell, a single standard suit might be 6000 isk in Dust, but in eve it would be 600000. so people wouldn't go overboard buying 1000 of suits for nearly nothing.
Now offcourse one could say what about plex; well the average value of plex in Eve is 500.000.000, so in Dust that would still only give 5 mill. Offcourse that is alott of isk in Dust, but then again its alott in Eve aswell. In Eve it would allow me to buy 1000 standard suits, yet in Dust it would only give the same.
The avarage mission in eve might only give a few mil, etc. so not speaking of corporations. The avarage player only makes so much isk per week. The amount that they could buy as for items from dust, are not that much, perhaps the same as we might spend if we play a few hours each day. Now the average Corp might make Billions per week, and can buy surtain items and ship for nearly nothing, but even the most expensive ships and items, will cost them. Same would then apply to dust, they might be able to buy thousends of cheap standard suits, but for prototype tanks, dropship, turret installations, etc. it would cost them.
Now offcourse the player market in Eve is deccided by the masses, But Most EVE players want one thing and that is to make as much isk possible so that they can affored those spaceships and ammo. and they are not going to sell something that does not make isk. So in order for an item to have a surtain value. they gave it surtain cost for making the item, in minerall wise, so that allready gives it a surtain value, plus every transaction has a tax, not much but still something. So even if a suit was made, and the price for it declined, at one point or the other someone would say i want my money's worth out of it and increase the price again.
Another way is that CCP controls that part of the market, not allowing it to be manufactured, and that the items allways have a surtain price tag to it, like a minimal value, so that it could never be sold for less then it's Dust value.
mission wise for earning isk are not all that different as with Eve. In Eve a single battle would cost billions if they lose every ship, allong with items and modules. So in Dust a single battle, would have the same equivalent. if they use a surtain tank or installation and it is destroyed. then they lose that Isk. They make Isk via missions, trading, production/inventing, contracting, etc. We do it via Merc contracts and perhaps more in the future.
But like i said this is just my opinion. |
