 Heavies get their HMG.
 
 What stops me from killing a heavy sometimes is simply just running out of ammo, and what lets them kill us easily is their RPM and clip Size.
 
 Let assault get their Light Machine Gun. Now before we start thinking well Kira isn't a submachine gun a light machine gun? No it isn't my little dusters. The LMG will fill the gap between AR and HMG.
 
 It is a fun weapon for everyone. Heavies can get an alternative weapon besides the HMG. Logibros can lay down support fire with it, it will let assault handle those heavies, and scouts...well they can keep their snipers...
 It would make an awesome support/cqc weapon. Great at mid-to-close range, Horrible at long range.
 
 LMG
 -Bigger Clip Size (75-100)
 -Slight increase to Damage (33-34-35ish)
 -Slower ROF (650-700)
 -Less Accuracy/Stability than the AR
 -Higher CPU/PG requirements
 -Slight Penalty to movement speed.
 
 Plus I'm sure some of you would like to spray and pray. It's okay we all do it sometimes.

 basic ARs already have a 60 round magazine, so it's gonna need way more than 50-75 to matter.
 
 same thing with damage. current AR damage is 31-32.5-34.1
 
 
 i wouldn't mind having an LMG class of weapon, but as you propose it, it would be worthless compared to just current ARs

 Why would they ever make a heavy suit to begin with if they could just make assault suits do heavys job?
 
 Heavys are meant to beat assaults in shoot outs. The whole point and design of the HMG is to be a counter to Assault AR style close to mid range fits and mow down infantry.
 
 and even if you had a LMG why would its dmg be increased compared to AR? by that logic a HMG should be doing far more dmg per hit then the LMG.

 Plus with the inevitable HMG nerf, it would make sense to give heavies an alternative weapon. Since a heavy+AR can be a little silly. It will still let them deal damage.
 
 I see your point in thinking the dmg should be AR>LMG>HMG.
 
 Yet the AR does more DMG than the HMG.
 Now here is the problem if you give an LMG lower dmg stats than a HMG.
 
 DMG: 12
 RPM:700
 
 So now you would have the pathetic version of an SMG. The LMG is just the bigger tougher brother of the AR.
 The HMG gets massive RPM and Clipsize, so it's damage needs to be lower than an AR or LMG. Any other way it would be a god mode weapon.
