Recently i was in a skirmish game where Tim had gotten on top of a building and from there he could see the whole facility. He let us know when to assault the C objective, if it was swarming with red berries and calling out heavy suits. He was a true asset to our squad but sadly he ended up at the bottom of the leader board. This got me thinking. Currently i think that scout are only good for 2 things. 1. CQB shotgun commando 2. Sniper
This is an idea for the scout suit to be used as an actual "scout". There should be modules, weapon attachments, or equipment that helped the scout to actually do what its meant to. This equipment could be some kind binoculars or a tag gun. Basically the scout gets a visual on a vehicle or enemy and he shoots it with a tracker that marks the target on his squads minimap. If that person is killed while the tracker is active the scout gets points. Maybe he can launch little drones that hives him a visual over an area.
Basically i would like there to be tools that a scout can use to improve the information available to his team.

I joined a random squad with mics and one of them offered to snipe, which is not his favorite activity it turned out, and he called in all that information while using his scope. "You got two coming up behind you" is easier to parse than looking at the mini-map while trying to stay alive. |

If this drone can be a camera and it can be remote controlled or AI controlled is fine with me. It does give the (Scout) class a better name. Instead of just looking through your sniper scope, you view the battlefield and help your team with an higher up view. |

CCP is also considering adding a cloak ability for the scouts. You can use this for recon too. While using it, you can spy on enemies up close without being detected. |

I actually suggested a while back that when someone, such as a scout, spots a red, and the red is killed because of that, the scout should get an assist. It has been confirmed that CCP will attempt to add this.
Scout really can be used as scouts now, because of their superior scanning stats, superior mobility, and low profile. Before the wipe, I was giving overwatch as a scout with a sniper rifle; calling out over team chat where the enemy is, what they're using, and what objectives are the most lightly guarded. |

I was just meaning that it could be used to keep track of tanks and vehicles and heavies so that players know where they are. Also its just a way for scouts to get points for being the eyes and ears of the team. |

Scouts certainly could use some work to define their role(s). Some off the cuff ideas: - Long range, high precision suit scanners to give squad mates better radar coverage. - Cloaky hackers and saboteurs. - High Speed solo hunter-killers - Target painting for drone/missile/orbital strikes
Right now the scout offers very few useful advantages over the standard assault suit. It would be nice for it to be able to perform as a useful squad member. I think the addition of remote sensors or spy drones would be a cool addition. A scout could sneak behind enemy lines and plant sensor devices to give squad commanders real-time information about enemy troop movements. Perhaps the device could be toggled between sensor and jamming modes to create extra confusion. |

Yeah, I definitely think a target painter or a "GPS tag" rifle would be interesting.
I know that even with voice comms, it's often hard to communicate where something is and where it's going.
I'd love to have a modified Sniper Rifle (say 1/2 damage and 3/4 range) that puts everything I hit on the TacNet for my team. Giving me assist points for the kills would be icing on the cake. |

The current scout build (which I play exclusively) has a bit more to it than you give it credit for. Stealth in this game calls for actual sneakiness, but master that and even a lone scout on foot can cause huge amounts of trouble. Not only can you report enemy activities as you slip past (either over comms or via map), but you can also make all kinds of mischief-- less commando, more saboteur.
You can hack resources, gank snipers, man "unmanned" turrets, flank hostiles your friends have engaged, ambush jeeps with AV grenades, and, my favorite, hack undefended objectives before rigging them with remote charge traps.
Find a nice unobtrusive crate to hunker down behind and watch the little orange dots hurry to their deaths.
Fit for patience and flexibility: charge sniper, SMG, AV grenades, remote explosives, shield extender, dampeners. Just get out there and make all the trouble you can. A scout hanging out in unexpected places should find a cloaking device redundant. |

My plan was to go Logi ever since 3 builds ago, but since the last one I just fell in love with the scout suit. Very underrated, it probably scores most of my kills. |

You should be able to auto detect if you can point your crosshairs at the target.
The scouting part with a scout comes from the scope of a sniper, or being harder to detect. |
