1 hour ahead isn't a big deal. only a couple of us work during the day so we're extremely flexible. and it's not like we require signing on at certain time or anything. just play when you want to, and if your corp members are on, we'll all squad up and have some good times.
we will show you the ropes with whatever role you would like to play. practice is all it takes, and it's much easier to learn when you have a squad to stick with, versus running solo and hoping someone is nice enough to watch your back. being an EVE player is a big plus.
We'd be happy to have you as a part of the group, send an application in game to Cygnus Tactical Operations and we'll get you in a match as soon as there are Cygnus members online. Welcome aboard! |

9 members playing right now. a couple of us have friends/family that we know IRL that are just busy or lazy and haven't signed up yet. so if you wanted to count those lazy bastards it would be a few more.
a typical day of mine will consist of getting on at 6/7:00 and playing until the wife starts nagging about how i'm married to the game or w/e.. But yea, evenings/weekends are definitely the most active time for the Corp. I believe you'd be the first shotgun wielder to join if you're interested. feel free to squad up with any of us to test the waters. |

^ For sure. I'm not too up to date on what goes on with our Eve sponsor (more Bane and Tibbetts' side of the operations) but either way, I'm sure everyone would be more than happy having two Eve organizations backing up Cygnus. |

Cygnus is still accepting applications. Join a corporation of experienced players who will show you how to be an effective mercenary. CTOPS is perfect if you are looking for a corp that will treat you as part of the team instead of just another Corp member. Don't join another 2-5 man Corp, that wil be ineffective in Corp battles and fighting in Null-Sec when the time comes. Cygnus has been layin it down in pub matches, and we're getting more involved with Corp Battle strategy. Starting up a new campaign of recruiting so send an application to CTOPS soon. We've had a steady flow of a couple applicants each day this week. Still open for new members as we try to grow as much as possible before Uprising is released. We have a great mix of role types already and sounds like we just picked up a good sniper, but we are still in need of logibros to pick up the team especially in Corp Battles. No, we don't have a set hierarchy except the CEO and two members under him who have been appointed as Directors. Squad leaders are assigned during war barge strategizing prior to beginning a corp battle. And during public matches SL's swap a lot depending on who WANTS to play as squad leader, who hasn't in a while, and of course for passing off Orbital Strikes.
And no, everyone has equal say and everyone's opinions are heard no matter what your skill level is, or when you joined. Of course as stated above though, one of the 3 officers will have final say. It works well since there are and will always be just 3 in order to have an odd number, and to protect the security of the corp.
As far as being part of an alliance.. please check the first post in our thread here ;) We are part of Gentlemen's Agreement. This alliance has 12 corporations. (more may possibly join in the future as needed). Gentlemen's Agreement is a top 20 EVE alliance with thousands of Capsuleers that ALREADY own star systems in Null Sec. So yes, we have some of the best EVE backing in the game that gives us unquantifiable advantage on territory defense, tactical support from allied Dust514 corporations, and of course the billions of ISK in financial support.
Currently we don't have a tax or tuition requirement for our members. It is donation basis only for now since we have no real need to spend the ISK we have stock piled up. Therefore members need to be self-sufficient. We will show you the best ways to do so. Of course if you are a vehicle pilot, and you use one for us in a CB and it's lost, it will be reimbursed. CB's are paid out of pocket as needed by our Directors. As head of Operations I pay close attention to who in the Corp is most active or improved greatly, and anonymously reward them for it.
As far as how we differ from LE514.. as part of Cygnus you become part of the GENTS alliance. There is a 100% guarantee that when you get online you will have fellow alliance members to join up with. And of course the members of your Corporation. We have our own private forum, on the GENTS website that gives you access to a wealth of knowledge, tips, and info not just Dust side; but inside info on what's happening on the EVE side as well.
In regards to what sets us apart the most however, I would say is the skill level of our members. Add me to your contacts and send me a message in game. I will show you the stats of a few of our members to show you what I mean. (You can always have a peep at my stats as well by adding me to your contacts). I play a standard Assault BPO with Exile AR every match. We can talk more through messaging in the game as we try not to divulge more than necessary about our Corp on the public forum.

We welcome any experience level. And definitely need as many people that can heal and repair as we can get. We're not real big on hierarchy or orders and stuff, as long as you can listen well to whomever the SL is when playing in Corp Battles to help the team win. If you get tired of playing Logibro and feel like you want to swap out to something else feel free. We don't want you to feel tied to it. Whatever position you would like to play, we have experienced members who can show you the best way to do it.
No need to rush on the mic. If you can get one great. Keep in mind that serious Corp Battle invites will prioritize veteran players, and those who have mics (in order to give CTOPS the best chance at winning). For training battles with our alliance members, it's not that big of a deal. -same goes for just squadding up in public matches. We'd still rather play with a corp member w/ no mic, than a random blueberry WITH one.

Ok, great. Either myself or our CEO will check it out. I'm going to be out of town, but pretty much everyday this week we've had plenty of people on. Check out dust-gents.com and register on the forum with your Dust514 name. Also, when you get in game, shoot Soraya Xel a message so he'll approve your forum registration once your app gets accepted into Cygnus. He does that as a security measure for the alliance. |

bump for CTOPS hitting 40 members, and the start of Alliance PC last night. tonight i'd like to see if we can setup a corp battle against ourselves. it would be pretty cool to have a scrimmage WITHIN the corp for a change.
also, Harmonix it was nice getting a few matches in w ya last night, we needed more good snipers. |

CTOPS is still taking applications to join the team. If you are looking for a corporation to join, pick one that has enough members to fill squads every day and has the best Eve backing in the game. We have plenty of day 1 veteran beta players and a few used-to-be-new recruits who have trained up and now play better than any of their contemporaries.
