Hello,
My corp and me are, for the majority of us, old players of MAG (i've played around 700 hours to MAG and have the platinum trophy with 98% of trophies), and we thinks it's best in DUST if we can groups together, and have more players in the squad like MAG (ex : 16 players in a group, 8 players in a squad), because we can't group togethers for speaks and go in the same battle togethers, and we must choose the 3 others players in our corp of players where we have played in a 8-members squad in MAG before. |

Squad size is being bumped up to 6 next build (as well as vegetation being added, and 48 player battles). Groups would be nice, but the kinds of battles you can use groups in should be limited to prevent randoms from being stomped by organized clans all the time like it always happened in MAG. |

Maybe not allow larger formations in high sec, low sec(fw) and null were more experienced players are could use larger structures.
what about squad 2-6players no skills needed, only group allowed in high sec pub matches section 2-10players, requires squad leader to have section command skill, each rank allows 2 players. platoon 1-5 sections, platoon leader skill allows one section per level
This would allow 51 players to organize in advance if all leaders have max skills
If larger formation is needed. company 1-5 platoons, this would allow maxing out 48 players without everybody having max skills, or if some understrength sections are wanted for specialized tasks, like tank crew. It would be nice if we ever match/exceed mags player counts.

Really good news, but 8 must be great i think.

Yeah, we have discuss in our group about that, but we have says that this problem isn't a real problem, because, since the last reset, with 2-3-4 Prima Gallicus, we have wins against a lot of randoms (with a lot of randoms allies), with generally more than 1500 WP (sometimes more than 2000 WP), and each of us have got the best ranking in this games (with generally full militia items), so, 4 more of us will not change the result in the game, because some of us can battle only one against 2-3 rookie guys and kill them, and we are not PGM in DUST 514.

I love you're idea about skills for have commands in games where a corp is deployed, and i think the MAG command system can be great in DUST 514.
Squad : 1 squad leader (with 7 guys in this squad)
Section : replace one squad soldier (who aren't a leader) by a section leader (4 squads, so 32 players in the section, with 1 section leader, 4 squads leaders, and 27 soldiers)
Company : replace one squad soldier (who aren't a leader) by a company leader (4 sections, 128 players in the company, with 1 company leader, 4 sections leaders, 16 squads leaders, and 107 soldiers) |

Four more people from your corp playing on your team will of course make a difference. Silly to think it won't. You don't have a 100% win rate. While you most likely are experts at killing new players who aren't organized by this point, random people who join Instant Battles and see you, or any other random corp on the enemy team, know that they have a decent chance of winning despite there being an organized group on the enemy side.
Adding four more people, or eight, or twelve, makes it less and less likely that random people will be able to get wins. They'll necessarily be placed on teams other than ones which have a full roster from the same corp, all presumably coordinating together. In such a case, where randoms might be against a full team of people from X corp, they'd have a pretty low chance of winning. So they'll leave the game, or play and probably lose and be unhappy they had to fight a stacked team.
In either case, it doesn't make the game more fun for the randoms who comprise a significant percentage of players. Meanwhile, the corp that fields a full team of 16 and stomps a team of randoms has a boring game where they talk about how great they are while redlining the enemy. Nobody really wins, here.
As an alternative, CCP could improve their corp contracts interface to make it easier for people who want to fight as an organized team to do so. They'd then get matched against enemy teams. This way, people could play as a big group easier, randoms don't have to deal with stacked teams and Dust therefore made worse for them, and the people playing as a group actually have to fight an enemy team that'd be able to put up a good fight, rather than a disorganized mess of people with wildly variable skill levels. |

I think you have right about a lot of players in the same corp if they can played all togethers in front of randoms players, but i think your idea of an other mode can be a good thing if we wants deploys all guys of a corp (or with friendly corps too) in random battles against others random corps.
CCP haven't previously says than they will equilibrates randoms games ? because, seriously, it's not funny for rookies to dies a lot of times against veterans, and it's not funny for veterans to kills a lot of times rookies (it's funny some times, but not funny all time for have equilibrates games).
I think we must have different modes :
Rookie mode : only guys with the same level (ratio, WP, SP, ranking, etc... calculate with different things for equilibrate games) can battles between them (ex : Rookies against Rookies).
Experienced mode : all guys can battles against all other guys (all levels against all levels)
Veteran mode : only for mad guys !!! only if you played with a squad of friends, and you can played with other squads of your corp (or squads of friendly corps), against other squads of corps (levels is equilibrate too here, so we can have a squad of rookies with a squad of veterans, against a squad of rookies and a squad of veterans).
PS : it's just an idea |

I 100% agree, I came on here to make a similar thread as an ex mag player but when I searched I found several already existed.
They need to let us group up in 16 person groups.
Oh and did you know that in MAG MizzSmartyPants broke the grouping system for us so we could fit more than 8 in a deploy group? (you just couldn't see the names)
To be 100% honest this is the type of thing (not being able to socialize while im deploying/playing) that will shorten this games lifespan for me dramatically. Half the fun of gaming online is chit chatting with my clanmates before and during the games! |
