Apart from the I agree. Vehicles are carried in the MCC. We can't see this, but I'm pretty sure I remember that as a small detail from the 2009 presentation.
If you think about it, I've done OBs before, and those are from over a thousand kilometers above the surface of the planet. How the hell is the RDV supposed to carry said vehicle, unshielded, down from that high an orbit in 15 seconds? Also, I would assume that would have been part of the RDV DevBlog were that the case, as that would be a VERY important part of how the RDVs functioned if that's how our vehicles got here, discounting the fact that getting here that fast from that high up is completely impossible. |

Look, that guy that jumped from the balloon? He was only 120k feet up, not even in orbit, and it took him almost 4.5 minutes to reach the ground. From low-orbit you'd have to accelerate into the atmosphere, which would create more heat than I care to think about, and you still wouldn't be smoothly swooping in to land in only 15 seconds.
It makes much more sense for vehicles to be coming from the MCC, and it fits the descriptions from the DevBlogs they've released so far.
Besides, why is them coming from the MCC a bad thing? That just lends purpose to that obvious flight-deck-looking protrusion you can clearly see on the back of the Caldari one. If its a space concern, the vehicles could just be "packaged" like in EVE and then assembled before launch.

I'm also not super clear on how loading into a vehicle inside the MCC would help. They don't have inertial dampeners, so you'd just fall out of the MCC and die. I would like the to see a special type of MCC that has a launch deck on top, though, for calling in aircraft. That'd be pretty bitchin'. Right, but what I was saying is that that protrusion between the engines looks like some kind of flight deck. At least on the Caldari one. Never been on top of the Gallente one.
Also, given they would be carried inside the MCC, you could just board them on the same deck the RDVs are using and fly off from there. |

If you want to draw a real-world parallel, US Army tank crews don't ride in their tanks inside a C-5. They arrive at their staging location before the tanks do.
All I'm saying is that it would make sense for air vehicles to be able to deploy directly from the MCC. |
