Hello Merc! yesterday i picked up a Rare forge gun, (Gaston's Forge gun) and was wondering how do Rare weapons compare to normal weapons? Be it prototype, advance, or standard weapons. Please tell me your experience with them.

The gastun is same as proto forge in all stats except the charge up time which is 2.1s vs 3.5 on the proto
Also clip size is 6 instead of 4 and 20 max ammo vs 16 |

Basically, the rare weapons are Officer weapons, which rank even higher than Prototype Weapons. Basically, they're flipping amazing and destroy everything pretty quick. If you have one of those with a decent suit, it takes a few people to take you down.
Forge Gun specifically, that one could bring any tank down to it's knees in about 10 seconds. Maybe less. |

Thale's sniper rifle with 3 complex damage mods hits for 550-ish if I remember correctly. 1 shots most heavy builds with a hs <3 |

Triangle and R2 / L2 are your best friend. All the info you need can be found using them. |

Rare weaponsdops often = 'god'-weapons.
Better dmg, ammo,rof, acc. etc.
Always pretty awesome to use, at the right moment that is. |

Yeah, i know. i check stats all the time, i was just wondering was it good in battle as it looks good on paper. |

Yeah, these weapons are generally better than Proto; they also have more skill requirements than "normal" Proto.
I have some Officer Forge Guns and Assault Rifles, and last build had those and some Sniper Rifles and something else (maybe Swarm Launchers; I can't remember).
I honestly don't plan on using them, unless I absolutely have to (really important corp battle and the like). Right now the only way I know of getting them is through salvage, so to rely on them doesn't seem like a good idea. |

Except for the Thale's sniper guys hiding in the redzone and the occasional forge gun after the battle had already been decided, you didn't see much of them on the field previously. |

Some of the 8+kdr assault people used the krin and balac ar in the later part of last build. You need alot of skills to fit them without messing up the rest of suit, so we won't see then used for a while. |

I have the Officer HMG, 10 of them currently and the SMG.
I am saving hem for a rainy day when I want to put out a 100% proto fit. |

ok, here we go, ill make it simple for the newer players. There are certain weapons you can only get ia salave. If the weapon has a name in it; that is an Officer Weapon. They are very powerful, but can't be bought in market; so u wont ever really use them. Here are the officer weapons: ... pardon if i mis-spelt any; i dont have them all yet (again)
i'll add stats that i remember off hand
ARs:
Krin SIn-11 : 34.1 damage, 90mag,
Balac Gar-21 : 35.8 damage, 857 rof, 72mag
SMG:
Calacs mk33 (or something like that) : 26 damage
SR:
Thales SR : ????
SP:
Wolfmans Pistol: 84 damage
FG:
Gastans FG : 1440 damage, 6 round mag, 2.1 charge time
HMG:
Gastun's MIN-7 HMG
dmg: 19.2
Rof: 2000
Acc: 61.5
Clip:425
max ammo: 1500 |

Interestingly enough, my Balac's GAR-21 does 35.8 damage and has an 857.1 RPM. The FG has the same stats you said, though. |

those listed items were our prizes for winning the Tournament. Though the smg & sniper we received are worse then the Thales & the Calacs (least the smg is hands down, SR is opinion)
@Archer: good to see u on here finaly ; and like i said that was off top of my head. The damage & rof u listed are the correct ones |
