I joined today, and found myself picking up the game remarkably fast, at least on the Heavy. I think my best k/d with Heavy is 7/2 or something.
However, my favorite dropsuit is the Scout, and I love Nova Knives. I want to make a build based around them, but am wondering if you have any advice or ideas?
I'll be starting an entirely new character tomorrow to replace what I've been using so far, and want to know what to get when I start off. I plan on buying Nova Knife, upgrading it, then going for a Shotgun primary.
Also, what exactly are modules, and what ones will help me best with the Knives? I've heard there are some that increase speed, as well as remove me from the mini-map? Not showing up on the map would drastically improve my success with assassinations.
If so, will I be able to afford all this with starting funds? |

Knives are a bit hard to use at the moment. As you level up your knife skill the charge up time needed goes down, however, you can run while charging. However there have been some players who have had success.
If I could log in right now I'll post the name of the modules that reduce your signature, making you not pop up on the mini map as much. There is also a skill that reduces it even more. For now go to the market/militia gear and you'll find lots of modules you can equip without having to level up skills. These modules can be bought and equipped to your dropsuit.
There are modules to increase damage, increase armor and shields, increase speed/hacking time/shield regen delay. With more on the way!
for now I'm not being to helpful am I :P but here is a link someone posted of a starter guide to dust! Good luck and if no one answers you by tommorow when I can get in game, I'll reply with more information : )

I can't really comment on the efficacy of profile dampeners and the stamina mods and skills. I would recommend experimenting with the militia gear, It's cheap and you won't waste SP if you change your mind about something. |

Short answer: No
Long answer: Melee mods on B series scout does it much better, and you can still shoot. I recommend mass driver, laser rifle, or pistol if you are baller. |

It's an odd weapon that really needs work. It shouldn't be one of the first things you spec into. The only plus side is that the kills are rewarding and you'll occasionally find players hacking with their back towards you for a free kill. |
