The whole beauty of DUST is the interaction with EVE. It's a mediocre game at most without that connectivity until more features are added. Which by the way, we don't want. We want the connection with EVE. Everything can branch out from there.
This is a serious issue that does need addressing, but how will it be implemented? Opening contracts to EVE players whilst we're all still in Beta? I feel that playing the same maps, and giving them names, is the total opposite from what I was going to be told I was going to have. Same structures, but different maps with different terrain. Right now we're getting more maps, but they're the same terrain with different structures - the opposite of what should have been happening.
And this is on topic, because the Devs are sure as hell not going to design a map for every planet in New Eden. |

In one of the DUST 514 keynote from last year (not sure which one, but it's not the main one and I think they were covering customization, you can see it on CCP's YouTube channel) CCP said they were intended on computer maps seeding every planet randomly, with CCP stepping in to just supervise. I guess they could be giving us 'stereotypical maps' so they can guess what kind if nap try should program, but they haven't explicitly said that, and I can't make blind leaps of faith.
I think they've made DUST have less of an impact so they don't destroy the economy. They've included orbital strikes, and seeded Tranquility with Infantry gear for EVE players to get used to. But yes, they should widen the ability to use OB's in Corporate warfare as well. |

Unfortunately, best situation with narrow-minded CoD fans is just hope they lose interest in the game. They're pulling the game down with their stolen ideas, when DUST already has a great one. To a lesser scale, I was reading an interview with CCP that says that the player base still asks for things like DLC's, which are obviously never going to be implemented. Which leads on to more things. We keep adding ideas. Yes, it'll be great for MTAC's to come. But in the sheer scale of the project that is DUST we get sidetracked, and have to learn to take it one step at a time. But oops, even in explaining myself I've gone off topic. Yes, I agree with you that we need to focus on the core idea of DUST before we can add all those great features that are to come.
*whispers* Can I have that MTAC now? |
