As for the gun itself - it's got a tactical grip, ACOG-esque scope, and a rather long barrel for an AR. To me, that attachment list seems more suited to a DMR- Designated Marksman Rifle- weapon. For the un-informed, DMRs are basically the middle-child between assault rifles and "sniper" weapons, meant to be effective in both roles. If i'm right about this design, that likely means stats similar to the following:
>Slower RoF than the current tac-AR, but higher than the sniper. >Somewhat higher damage than current AR >Better headshot multiplier >"Tight" hipspread - DMRs are meant to be useful in most situations, not just sniping. >Semi-auto would be the standard version. Full-auto might be a "secondary" variant option. |

Lasers are too situational to be the AR variant IMO. Unfortunately, I would bet ISK on Garrett's guess. Current LR has no scope, is very effective at medium to medium-long range, and empties its clip in under 10 seconds - That's cookie-cutter AR stats in most games. With the Scrambler Rifle, not only does it look like a sniper-type weapon (long, sleek "barrel" and a scope), but our current Scrambler Pistol already acts like a mini-sniper - great accuracy with a lethal headshot multiplier. Either that, or it will be the Amarr match to whatever the Caldari gun turns out to be - I'm quite certain that the Caldari gun will at least be a semi-auto weapon.
P.S. at Ten-Sidhe: That assessment about "halfway between AR and sniper" falls in very closely with my assumptions. |
